1. F*ck you Shyster. Yes I was feeling positive, I was led by the clubs spin, but most of my optimism came from the 75% of people on here that were feeling equally optimistic. And yes 75% is an estimate. Yeah so I have repeated other people''s opinions, that doesn''t mean that I am not entitled to voice that opinion nonetheless. As for being a ''Rambler'' I have been on this board for 5 months less than you, and you have 200+ more posts....... your''ve rambled so much that your judgement is waining. And like Downloads said, what the hell do I have to do with him? I have my opinion, he has his, and in this great country of Britain we have been accustomed to an identity of individualism and liberty. If you want to dictate to people then go and start a business and employ a whipping boy.
2. I see where your coming from too Hogesar, I just dont want to see us lose away to Yeovil!
3. No way. I think that Semmy is awful, don''t get me wrong. In fact he is the worst right back I have ever seen play for city. But...... for me the worst player on the pitch was Theo. I don''t think that he can recover from it, this is Massimo Tiabi X 10. I dont doubt that hes an alright keeper, but I just cant see him recovering from this. If Gunn starts him next game then I am officially boycotting the club. The only way back for Theo for me would be to loan him to the conference and see how he gets on, if he cant cut it there then he can be sent home.
4. I have been reading this board today, I was too sick yesterday to even come on. The whole match was an absolute shambles, Gunn has one last chance in my eyes. McNally has said that the Cup competitions are very important, and they are. We have enough players to put out a completely different 11. I want to see Alnwick, Wiggans, Spillane, Dumic, Askou as the back five. There is no way that any of the back 5 deserve to play in the next game. In my opinion Theo and Otsemober should be placed directly on the transfer list and banished to the reserves, the club needs to get a season long loan in for goalkeeper - possibly Doyle, and we need to buy a right back. We need to play Lappin on the left, with Stephen Hughes and Adeyemi in the middle, McVeigh on the right. If we are going to try and play like f*cking Brazil against these hardened teams then at least put out an eleven with the skill and pace to play a passing game. I would start McDonald with Maric. Yep, thats right..... I would drop everyone. Every single starter would be dropped. Hoolohan and Holt did ok, admittedly, but McDonald would play better off of Maric. Cody has earned his place in the starting line up (he earnt that against Reading last year in my opinion). I want every single player dropped. Nothing less. Every f*cking one of them, they can all earn there place in the team. 11 disgraceful players.
5. Houston you are showing yourself up a little then, as I am 24 and can remember 3 of those teams in the Premiership and another 3 in the championship.
6.

Everything about that post was quality and spot on. Except..... The line about Otsemober having the ability to be a regular England international, that really is scraping the barrel! He has a hell of a lot of pace, which is an incredible asset when used properly, but Otsemober was born stupid without a footballing brain. As a kid he would have had about as much chance of becoming an England International as Darren Campbell or Linford Christie. Take away the laziness and you might just about have a right back capable of doing a good job in League One, but I can''t see the club being able to find him a brain transplant. Other than that, spot on. Personally I hope that Chris Martin and Cody McDonald both do well this season (and that we manage to renew their contracts which expire in 12 months) but I would happily transfer that 5 goals in 15 games ratio straight to Chris Martin. If we can get 15 goals out of Maric, 15 goals out of Holt, 5 goals each out of Cureton, McDonald and Martin..... thats 45 goals and as good as the strike force we had in the promotion season.
Sorry Juan but that is a load of crap unless, of course, you know Mr Otsemobor personally and went to school with him. Whether his footballing ability is in question or not is slightly irrelevant if you''re saying the guy was ''born stupid''! He may not be your cup of tea on the football pitch but for all you know he could be Einstien off it...... I think we need to get of his back and stop this pathetic witchhunt against him, which in some instances is starting to get a bit personal. At the end of the day, he''s done a very good job in this league before, is likely to be 1st choice against Col U nex Sat so shall we all just give him a break and look forward to the new season???
There is no need to apologise for giving your own opinion about Otsemober, but at the same time I am not going to apologise for having mine. The stuff about being born stupid was said in jest, but I 100% stick by my opinion of his footballing intelligience. In my opinion, and like I said I am entitled to my opinion, he is one of the worst right backs I have ever seen at Carrow Road. Colin was average, but I would have him back at the moment, Edworthy was class and could probably still put in a decent shift, Nedergaard was class, we have a fine tradition of top right backs stretching back to Culverhouse. If this club is really going to move forward then a right back is essential, you can choose to respect that opinion or you can simply accuse me of talking crap. But either way, I am pretty certain that Otsemober will not change my opinion of him this year.
7. I have chinese writing down the inside of my left arm, which I love. I have a weird blob type thing on the inside of my right arm - not through choice, it covers up a females name. Easily the dumbest thing I have ever done, and hopefully the dumbest thing I will ever do - I was 17 at the time though. I blame a certain city centre tattoo parlour for not asking ID.
8. Although that said.... Jurgen Colin is currently a free agent, and is much better than Jon Otsemober, so I would have him back! Get him on trial Gunny!
9. He will probably end up playing for Ajax or something like Jurgen Colin..... did nothing in England whatsoever, then gets a huge move!

11. Not a bad effort for a kid.... the only laughable bit was the suggestion that a 13k crowd would have been the third biggest in league one last year. A 13k average maybe, but im sure leeds united beat 13k in all 23 of their league games last year!
12. Just found out that he had passed away, very saddening news. A truly great passionate man who knew how to be nothing but a sincere gentleman. Its nice to see that everybody on this board is remaining respectful, I know that many Sunderland fans have not been on another forum which is a disgrace. Even Craig Bellamy got on like a house on fire with him, he is one of only a few men with no enemys. Bobby RIP
13. Me neither, he''s full of bull and the other lad should have given him a wedgie.
14. Of course there have been threads to this effect on several occassions already, but having now signed 12 permanent players and with the possibility of more on the way, having not lost a pre-season game yet and with Jamie Cureton looking like he might end up 6th in the pecking order, where do people think we will finish? About 4-5 weeks ago I said that we would just scrape 6th. I am now going for 2nd. So, where did you think we were going to finish 5 weeks ago and where do you think we will finish now? Exact positions only please (no range allowed), as I want to bring this thread up at the end of the year. (Mr. Bump this means that you originally thought that we would finish 22nd-24th). Right, so I am officially on record saying that I think we will finish 2nd.

16. 1 in 2 starts that is. Well, 1 in every 2.33 starts in fact. Take away his appearances on the wing, and you have pretty much a 1 in every 2 starts. A 1 in 2 striker for the first time since Earnshaw? We can hope.
17. http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=12830&cc=5739 This is the source I used which shows him on 99 goals.
18. He hasnt scored 114 goals, unless you are counting non league. It has been established that he has scored 98, 99 or 100 goals.
19. The only thing that I WOULD like to see however is Pink Un specials. Particularly if we won the League One title or the Championship or something, I would hate to lose the chance to gain a memento from something like that. If we won League One this year then a ''Pink Un Champions Special'' is an absolute must.
20. "I don''t suppose for one minute that this will concern some on here who''ve probably never bought a copy". What a sad and pretentious comment; I would bet my house on the majority of people on here having bought quite a few copies. Personally I used to buy it for the away games and get all the conversation I needed about home games in the city centre bars with fellow supporters. I stopped buying it after discovering broadband, and quite frankly.... my recycling bin is 46 pink un''s lighter each year, so I could say something pretentious and boring like: "I bet some of those pink un subscribers don''t recycle their copies". With the amount of traffic driven to this site, and the additional traffic that will surely be driven to this site as a result, I am sure that they make plenty of money from advertising revenues. I can''t see why they just don''t put some adsense on the forum; I would.
21. "Anyone try Soccerbase" Hi Tookie, the stats are gave do include League and Cup. He is on 99 league and cup goals.
22. NCFC_Shaun, it was aimed at about 10-15 people, but don''t let your insecurities get in the way of a good argument. I hadn''t even heard of you until you posted on this thread, but if you want to have a go then go for it. I can argue all night.
23. Surely thats not a real footballer? Do we really have a player called John Bull Owes ''em a wedgie? Surely thats a wind up?
24. His first goal for city will be his 100th career goal. Just thought that I would point that out, seeing as Wikipedia is completely wrong..... do you think that the club will know this?
