There would have been a fan mutiny if we'd sold Pukki in the summer for any price, and then been 7th in the table like we are now. It would have 100% entirely have been blamed on Pukki being sold, with people saying he was a 30 goal Championship striker etc. Nobody thought that flogging Pukki in the summer was a good idea, only with hindsight as you say. In hindsight getting £5m for him and the buying a striker would have been sensible, but literally nobody would have seen it that way I'm afraid.

I doubt anything has changed from the summer to make him want to stay, so I'm not advocating that we take an offer off the table, I can't see him signing one regardless. Undoubtedly a legend. Agree with the Brentford fan that not signing Forss and having Pukki mentor him for a year was a missed opportunity, Pukki thinks that Forss is going to develop into a quality striker.

I don't dispute that he's an absolute legend and that we've been blessed to have him, or say anything about a tainted legacy. Do have to question whether this is actually a "dip in form" as you claim, or whether its more just what an ageing post-peak Pukki looks like. Some Norwich fans seem to be in denial about his decline.
