1. Is there to be a double edged sword effect from our good form. Had we not had this good start we would surely have had more new signing by now. My fear is we might have to make do with the terribly small squad we have because we''re not desperate right now for new blood. Just can''t see us being any where near as effective without any 2 key players. Lose 2 of Earnie, Hucks, Croft, Drury, Doc, Shacks or Safri and we will struggle. I hope the board aren’t going to sit on their hands just because it''s going ok at the moment. If they do we will fall away I’m convinced of that because injuries will come to key players. OTBC
2. right money and he''s gone. Thats life. All this he''s found a home stuff is a load of romantic crap. I doubt we''d let him go for less than £7m and I doubt anybody would take a gamble as big as that so stop fretting.
3. I think we have improved but lets keep our feet on the floor. That result yesterday was against 10 men for most of the match. Barnsley were defensively very frail and their tactics were suspect to say the least. Over committing players forward whilst a man down. Admirable but ultimately far to gung ho. Good result but I''d like to see us fry bigger fish before I start getting to carried away. This is in no way meant as a negative or as a criticism. I enjoyed the game immensely yesterday and was impressed by most if not all our players. I feel that the club has made giant steps forward since last season. I do however feel we will still need additional players and a higher over all standard of play to take our game on to another level before I would say we are able to sustain this level of performance home and away against the better sides in our league. It look to me as if that level isn''t far away but only time and harder opposition will tell.
4. The facts are simple fans pay money to watch the game. Money that comes from their wages. Wages that are 10 to 20 less than the players they come to watch get in most instances. If players want praise they must give us something to praise them for. I think the majority of fans were grumbling at some stage last season. Can you tell me any player couldn''t understand why.
5. I just want to say that was the class performance of the season by any one player today. Quality, commitment and he ran his bloody socks off. That’s what Huckerby is all about. I also feel he gets more freedom now we have a winger on the other side of the pitch. Form is temporary class is permanent. well done Darren.
6. Well if that guff is the truth then don''t forget to add the name of all the pundits and every bookie in the country too. What a load of rubbish spoken by someone who is no more qualified to talk about our team than an Ipswich fan. People have expectation that’s life without them what’s the point of going to the bloody games in the first place. Our expectation were based on the fact we had top players and we were told we had brought in other good players. The latter turned out to be rubbish but you can''t get away from the fact we had players in key positions that were the best the league had to offer. I expect us to win tomorrow do you think the players can take it!!! What utter rubbish!!!
7.

As I''m sure the totally blinkered pro Worthy fans will say any panic buy will be the fault of fans like myself and the pressure we put on the club.
I can''t see Worthington panic buying anyone.  And I don''t think we''ve ever panic bought, hindsight tends to be applied to players that don''t work out well.  Look at Dickson Etuhu now, in the long run he could prove to be the best buy of last season.  Thorne is has recovered from a hamstring injury and should be on the bench according to the beeb website, so maybe we''ll see something from him in the next few weeks ? And anyway, at least no-one can accuse the board of letting the wage bill get out of hand. :)  I hope that we''ll see a couple of last day purchases based upon a few months of hard negotiating. If not, all is not lost, we can still pull in loan players to cover injuries.  Have people forgotten that we got Huckerby and Crouch on loan ?  A loaned player is not necessarily a bad one.
I don''t share your confidence on loan players as we haven''t had one of any worth since Hucks/Crouch. Davenport was maybe the exception but he''s not my cup of tea far to likely to jump in a give away penalties away. Loan players are stop gaps mainly and are not part of what the club needs which is a rebuild of the squad to a size that offers cover and cover of quality in all areas.
8. Another week passes and no signings and no indications of targets or possible signing. After a summer of false hope where we were repeatedly told of possible signing we are now being told nothing. Is that tactical I doubt it. Perhaps it designed not to raise or hopes. Possibly although again I doubt it. With about a week to go are we going to sign anybody and is that signing going to be a quality player or another panic buy designed to plicate the fans. As I''m sure the totally blinkered pro Worthy fans will say any panic buy will be the fault of fans like myself and the pressure we put on the club. Dam without my demanding nature we wouldn’t have Hughes, Robinson or Thorne what was I thinking.!!!
9. Robert Fleck was by far and away better than Sutton or Huckerby. I love/ Loved both of then but Flecky was better. Passion, gut, attitude, quality, strength, and a load of goals against top quality opponents.
10. I’d like to know who Huddersfield spent 20 million on. For god sake spend the money and get us out of here. I can''t listen to any more lets wait and see lets not spend to much let just enjoy what we have. I go to football for a laugh and a few beers if this rubbish carries on to many more seasons I can''t see me leaving the pub to got to the game. Football is a game for men not accountants.
11.
Hardhouse44, name a club without any journeymen? If a good player doesn''t come to Norwich it is not just because of the manager, maybe better offers, more prestigous clubs, geographical lure etc. Is there anything we don''t blame on our manager?
I have not blamed our manager for everything. However I fail to see how Worthington could not be blamed for those dismal signings. Face the facts the players I listed have cost the club massive amounts of money just in wages alone for Zero return. That’s without listing the loan signs that spent most of the time on the bench. Just because other teams have bad players is no excuse. Would you rather watched that long list of players play and not perform just because they were Nigel’s choice. Mangers live and die by there decisions. Just like any of us in a work environment where you have to make them yourself. Why should he get a free ride regardless.
12.
Another error of judgement by our friend Nigel Worthington. McKenzie''s a good player (who has scored goals in every league he''s played in) and we''d be foolish to let him go to Sunderland or Coventry where he''ll score hatfuls.     Worthington is obviously trying to push McKenzie out the club, we need Leon at the club because Thorne is injured and hopeless and Worthington would never play Ryan Jarvis for long periods of the season.
Whilst I would never question his commitment or work rate I feel he is easily replaceable. He has had his injury problems as well. Anything between £750k and a Million and he will be sold. With that money and the Green money we have a chance to get in a top goal scorer for this division.
13. Just read Sunderland are interested in Leon. I reckon if we screw our noodles here we could end up with good money. What is good money for him, well I reckon if we could get a million we''d be doing alright. That would put £3m in the coffers if you add in the money for Green. With that sort of money we ought to be able to get 2 quality players in. If the manager can find them!
14.
I totally agree with all of you. I have said before, and I totally agree with Worthington when he says anyone we bring in has to better than we have already got. It would be so easy to buy a truck load of ageing journeymen with nothing to prove, sure they will do a job in this league but then you are stuck with ageing stars on decent wages who you can''t get rid of..  Unproven youngsters from the lower leagues may or may not cut the mustard at this level let alone the premiership. We have shown with Lee Croft that it is worth waiting for the right man to come along.  I am sure that the club know who they want, it''s just a question of holding out for the right price. Historically there has been some stupid prices paid on the last day of the transfer window, but I think that this year may be different.  I think that there are enough clubs on the breadline out there who have, up until now been holding out for top prices.  Come last day of the season these clubs might be faced with the stark reality of having to sell to balance the books.
I agree however it didn''t stop Worthington buying a truck load of journey men before. Hughes, Thorne, Robinson, Helveg, Jonsson need I go on. Is the manager the reason why good players won''t come. It''s a thought
15. I hope your right. If we could just strengthen I really feel we would be pushing for promotion.
16. I agree. I didn''t see the Derby game but I felt at home to Luton Robinson was the most advanced of our midfield trio which don''t make much sense considering his ability and the fact we have a 6ft 3 brick out house who should be bursting in to the box to get on the end of crosses. I think Etuhu need a little more self belief. He should have a pop at goal once in a while from outside the box too. He is by far the most promising of the three midfielder we got in last term but he need to keep improving.
17. Purchasing new players seems to be getting harder and harder for Norwich. Question is WHY. I feel that there are two factors the make it difficult for us to buy.Firstly despite the fact the club keeps telling us fans we ain''t got much cash I think it is thought among our peers that we have. This arises from the facts as some may see it. No huge spending in our premiership season good return on Ashton and now money from Greeno''s sale. This therefore makes team''s price there player up because they think you''ve got money. A bit like we are trying to do to Coventry me thinks.Secondly I feel our wage structure is unappealing to many. If we do manage to agree a price for a player we then have to get them to sign. Now it is well known that we don''t pay the best basic wages in the league. Win bonuses might be good but players want big basics. I have no interest in seeing the club breaking the bank to bring in players. My wonder is should we have been smarter in our transfers. Buy before you sell. Sounds daft but as we know Green was always off so it was money in the bank. Now clubs want it in there bank so everybody we look at is going to cost the same.Wages are a difficult one, we have as far as I know always had a strict wage structure which has always been hard to break. Is the any way round it, not sure but if you don’t pay as much as others in the same league you are always going to struggle in a money orientated world. Calculated gambles will have to be made if we are to get players in, wages could be raised if the returns are guaranteed. How do you guarantee returns, well that’s the art of good scouting and good research something that has not happened in the past which I feel has cost us much to much in wages to player who are not good enough or to loan player who don''t even play. What the answer is as to how to get these new players in is not an easy one but one thing is for sure we don’t have enough player and enough players of quality for a club trying to get in to the premiership.
18. How does one define a true fan. I myself like others turn up week in week out despite my dissatisfactions at the manager or my reservations concerning the boards ambition. Am I a true fan. Others are completely behind everything the board and manager regardless. Are they the real fans. Answer is in my view we are all true fans if we turn up and give the team 100% support during the game. Views about how the club is run should be discussed as that is what football is all about opinions but when Saturday comes we should come together in a united front as one to support the team. OTBC
19. Well If Mumby did say that then he is a DISGRACE. When I watch Huckerby I see a guy that runs his gut out for this club is passionate about Norwich it people and is proud to play for us. He has done more for this club in the last few seasons than any other player and deserves the respect of the fans and board alike. If that statement is true then I say Mumby should resign. It is disloyal something that could never be said about Darren when it comes to our club, he has stuck by us when other bigger clubs have come knocking at his door and for him to be treated like that by his Chairman is outrageous.
20. Will you change again if we lose the next 10 games. No!!!. Fine you believe what you want. The question is do you post what you think most others think or what you think will get you the most attention. I am all for self expression after all that is what these forums are for. A place for all to post their view and as long as those views are your views it is all good. Changing your views is fine. I would imagine you previous views were extreme as are your new ones. Is that you prerogative? Yes!!. Do you think that all that you have said in the past was wrong? I doubt it do you think all you are saying now is right I doubt that too. I just hope that the team is more consistent than your views then we all win and that includes Worthy.
21. A strike partner is what Earnie needs and I would say wants. Robinson would be the natural player to make way. If this makes our midfield week then that is and damming indication that our other midfielders aren''t good enough. Most teams play with 2 central midfielder and the are good enough to do that job if we need 3 and more importantly that 3rd one is Robinson then god help us all. Strikers score goals, goals win games crappy midfielders who can''t run, miss place passes constantly (with one bloody exception in 8 months which somebody is bound to point out) and look to get rid of the ball a quickly as possible are a waste of a player. As you can probably tell I think we should play 2 up front and drop Robinson!
22.
Problem would be McKenzie''s wages. I can''t see Southend being able to match what he is getting at City. Geographically it would make sense for both but I can''t see McKenzie accepting a ''step down''. Like Green I think it would be best if he moved on. It might be that he is one of those that Huckerby alluded when he said - " We weren''t performing, one or two people were feeling unsettled and wanted to leave. That''s what happens in football sometimes." Shame a some of the atendees at Carrow Road hadn''t the wit to grasp implications of the last sentence.
I don''t feel McKenzie is in any position to demand top wages. He wants to leave we control to a point where that will be.
23. He has nothing to offer a club looking to obtain promotion to the premiership. If he had he would be playing regularly now. He should be as fit a strong now as he ever will be. He is never going to make the grade at this level.
24. wouldn''t a deal where McKenzie goes in the other direction be a good option. A bit of cash plus a replacement striker must suit Southend best if he''s going to end up going eventually. I can''t see McKenzie could expect much better and he would get a game every week.
