  1. They flogged Emerald Park? I never knew that. Disgraceful. They should list long-established venues like they do old buildings.
  2. Bloody hell, total morons sanctioning total morons who were responding to total morons. Football needs some smart people. Or just one smart person. It would be an improvement. All I read into this is that the FA Christmas Party coffers must be quite low so this is how they remedy it.
  3. They should definitely have at least one tournament where they trial no crowd restrictions, let them go nuts the whole time. I remember when Ronnie got his 1,000th century, once he got over 100 the whole crowd cheered the rest of his shots.
  4. I wanted Ronnie to win, Midlands wanted him to lose, only one of us was ever going to be disappointed. He's a legend. His whole, "I'm not bothered" approach is quite clearly a technique he's been working on with Dr Steve Peters to keep his mental demons at bay, and keep him successful at the table, I'm amazed people can't see that. And the whinging, as Dylan alluded to, is agenda-driven. He hates the organising body (they are pretty dickish, to be fair, a bit like the PGMOL of the football world) and loves to stick a few into them, knowing that they're aware a tournament with Ronnie in it generates far more clicks, views and interest than one without him. He wants to be playing more events in foreign countries where the players are treated like Kings and the venues are like palaces. So it's in his interest to use his platform to do down the English venues he doesn't like. Can you blame him; Looks like a prison (Ally Pally) or... Tough choice?
  5. Come on @Rock The Boat, make it make sense. My posting history will attest to the fact that I am anything but a Keir Starmer apologist, I find the bloke a proper snake and as dishonest as any Tory (bar maybe Boris), but to desperately try and pin this one on him is an amusing spectacle to watch, even against your back catalogue.
  6. You've tried it so many times, but have you ever actually managed to squeeze a square peg through a round hole?
  7. **** that, he's playing Ali Carter, I'd want Ali Carter to lose to Hitler.
  8. I think finally starting Nunez regularly has helped massively. He does a lot of the stuff that goes unnoticed far better than McLean when he was partnering Sara in the middle.
  9. Yeah, really weird anyone thinks Gunn was in the wrong here. If I run forwards whilst looking in the opposite direction, I can't blame the lamppost if I run straight into it. Gunn only had eyes for the ball. Connolly endangered himself. Any other conclusion lacks sound judgement. Dimi on the other hand was a touch fortunate.
  10. I'd like to say it's not an exclusive Tory issue because Tony Blair was made aware of it prior to its rollout but still waved it through, on advice of Epstein's buddy Mandleson. But we all know what they are, don't we? Imagine if Starmer had been given the opportunity to stop it. He wouldn't have.
  11. I'd have told you what happened on Bloody Sunday for the price of a couple of pints. Trouble is, some of you twats have a hard time accepting the truth when it contravenes your small-minded, jingoistic prejudices. And the Tories sudden change of opinion now it's caught the public mood. They've gone from giving a CBE and high profile job to one of the main perpetrators of the injustice to suddenly acting like they give a **** about the poor bastards whose lives were ripped apart. Embarrassing.
  12. Couple of terrible passes that would make even McLean blush, but definitely dug in.
  13. Excellent result. 2nd half was alright to be fair. Although Gunn kept us in it, maybe it wasn't that good.
  14. We spent £60 million +. £2.5 million is nothing like a "good chunk". It was a signing to provide us with a good backup for a then 33 year old Krul, with an eye on seasons ahead. It was a rare sensible signing by Webber. You can disagree as well, in the same way it's fine to disagree with me when I tell you the Earth isn't flat.
  15. Clubs are allowed to make signings whilst looking at more than the next 12 months you know. And it was 2.5 million up front, very curious as to what could have been done with that in summer to change that season's fate. And as I type, another great save. Gunn was a fantastic signing. Bizarre that anyone would continue to argue otherwise.
  16. It absolutely wasn't, as I had to argue at the time. I could forgive those arguing otherwise at the time, you're not all as prescient as me, but to continue to argue it with the benefit of hindsight? Really? One of the very few things Webber got right from summer 21 onwards.
  17. I remember when loads of people slagged off the Gunn signing. Top 3 goaly in this league, easily.
