1.

If he is confirmed in the job and is given a contract for the whole of next season then he will prove to be a good manager for us. Mark my words.
No he wont , he is so far out of his depth its a wonder he hasnt drowned yet . Worst manager in the history of Norwich City .
Blimey, that''s what I call hyperbolic ergo "bollox". He took over a team which was nosediving down the table just a few days before the transfer deadline. What was it, 3 points from 18 in the previous six games and a complete no show against Charlton in the FA Cup ? The stench of years of negligence and the bile of Roeder pervading Carrow Road and Colney like a thick, toxic fog, a clueless owner, a totally self-serving and incompetent Board, a debt in excess of £20 million, God knows how many loan players, Hucks and Shackell dispensed with, morale ripped to shreds. What a massive challenge for any manager. Gunn provided immediate stability and continuity, he quickly brought in Butterworth and Crook, made some shrewd signings, got rid of the unhappy camper Lupoli, brought back Cureton (whose goals had already by then gained 4 points for Barnsley) but, sadly, the rot was so deepset that the underlying downward trend could not be reversed and we were relegated. In my opinion , Gunn is the last person to be blamed for our ultimate demise and to state with such breathtaking conviction that he "was so far out of his depth and he is the worst manager in our history" is unbelievably unjustified and inaccurate.

 4. I think there could be substance to this story. In fact, my normally reliable cousin not only thought he saw Klinsmann in Asda last evening but he reports that he also saw a group of Sikhs in there as well AND they were walking along the aisle towards where Klinsmann was buying a jar of mustard (earlier he had been seen buying a jar of frankfurters). That seems pretty conclusive to me. The club is about to be bought by a consortium of extremely wealthy businessmen and Klinsmann has already agreed to be the new manager. What exciting times we live in. I can''t wait until next season.

I hate Bryan Gunn now, not because he took us down, as i believe he should have never been given the job, but he always jsut talks complete bullshit, and really gets on my nerves. All this they players let us down crap, Yes we know Gunn we dont need you telling us.
Same here Bob, his ruddy daughter too......talk about please employ me, he''ll be standing on roundabouts next!
Not like you to bring your hate for the female sex into the argument.
Plonker! 6.
i think gunny has been harshly treated myself and i would be prepared to give him six months until January to see what he can do with his own team not one inherited from that useless twat Roeder, and i know some people will say that gunny was head of player recruitment but Roeder still only signed the players he wanted, which gunny proved when he took over by getting players in that Roeder had previously turned down (Lee and Gow for example) tin hat time I''m guessing
I completely agree with what you say. I am sick of the vitriol and unpleasantness aimed at Gunn. I was at the Charlton game and the chants were aimed at the players and the Board but none were aimed at Gunn. All the players should have been "up for it" against Charlton, Reading and Ipswich with zero need to be motivated by any manager but most of them were inherited by Gunn from that so and so Roeder. Significantly, the ones that did play their socks off were players brought in by Gunn. Give him a decent period of time to prove himself, let him have his clear out and let''s see who he brings in and how a team forged by Gunn, Butterworth and Crook performs.
 7. My cousin is fairly certain that he saw Klinsmann buying a jar of frankfurters in Asda last evening. I am passing this on because my cousin is normally very reliable.
 8. Much of what he said was pretty accurate but I have to say that his smug, self-satisfied, rather superior delivery stuck in my craw. is he Cam in disguise I wonder !

I have often wondered why anybody thinks that the NCISA has any clout with the owners and directors of the club. How many paid up members does the NCISA have and how do the spokesmen, sorry spokespersons, get appointed ?

 12.
1. Burnley Away, Walking lost through Liverpool at 9am the morning after Haloween topless and half painted red in my Devil costume, phone battery dead, worrying that i''d never make the morning train to Burnley! Arriving back at the house in which we were stopping to find that my mate wasn''t even back yet! Fortunatly he got back soon after and we got showered and away quick enough to get a good look around Burnley and to Turf Moor. Then back to Liverpool Saturday night for an old friend''s 21st birthday! A fantastic weekend but a shame as usual about the performance on the pitch! 2. Ipswich at Home, "we beat the scum 2-0". 3. Birmingham Away, like kiwiNCFC said, a fantastic support matched by the performance on the pitch, a day when i really thought we''d have no trouble survivng the drop. 4. Doncaster Away, got the train from Norwich at around 9am, started drinking in Peterborough about 11am. Got to Leeds early afternoon to meet our friend who lives there. pub crawl of Leeds then the train to Doncaster for the Friday night game. Fantastic support for a game in an intresting ground City had never been to. Okay result, came away with a point and got to see a goal. The bloke in the Donny end that left/moved seat at half time due to Y''army caining his girlfriend. Just generally a good day with great banter and still believed we were good enough to stay up! 5. Wolves/Barnsley/Cardiff at Home.
That''ll be my highlight
 13.
In the interests of being helpful I''ve re-written the statement.  I think the "problem" with it is that the salient points tend to come after descriptions.  If you put your points first, and get rid of some of the flowery wording it becomes punchier : Norwich City Independent Supporters Association has no faith or confidence in the current make up of the boardroom to make the correct decisions to get our club back to its rightful place in the football world. The prolonged decline of Norwich City Football Club must be arrested.  Mistakes made in recent years by the custodians of the club have been repetitive, disastrous, and leave the club in crisis, as we enter next season in League 1. NCISA demands that the owners act quickly and decisively.  Doncaster must be sacked and other changes personnel must take place within the boardroom.  While we accept that those in control have acted with good intent, they have been responsible for mistakes which cannot and must not continue.
Yes, much better......... just made a couple of changes.
 14. “NCISA demands that the board act quickly and decisively, and to this end, changes of personnel must take place within the boardroom.” I can''t see Munby and Doncaster sacking themeselves ! Let''s hope that the owners act quickly and decisevely.
 15.
I love Bryan Gunn. I really do. Despite the fact we are relegated he is still Mr.Norwich and he is a wonderful man. If he came into my workplace today I''d not hesitate to shake his hand and thank him for his effort, commitment and desire to try and rescue us from relegation. But despite this, I just can''t see us moving forward with him at the helm. What happened against Charlton was an absolute disgrace performance wise, the players just don''t give the same care about the club as Gunn does and thus there was no way he could''ve pumped them up more for the occasion. If we were in mid-table in the Championship and just needed a man who knew the club inside out to see us out in a mediocre season then Gunn would''ve been the answer. Alas this wasn''t the case and I think in the end despite how well he handled the pressure, it was too much effort for ANY manager to get a bunch of overpaid, ingrate loanees to think of anybody else but themselves. I''d actually keep Gunn at the club in some capacity, perhaps even as an assitant manager with Crook and Butterworth keeping their coaching roles. Gunn can still play an important role in getting us back up to the Championship next season. But I think the time has come for him as manager to step aside and let someone else take over. Regarding the next appointment, I''m of the opinion that Doomcaster and Mumbler should be NOWHERE NEAR the selection process. I''m not sure who usually calls the shots, but if it is definately Delia then she needs outside help in order to advise her, preferably someone that actually has a clue. Could we get a Robins, Tilson or a Pardew? We certainly need a manager with more experience thats for sure. Tilson is my personal choice after his work at Southend. Imagine what he could do at a bigger club if given the chance? The foundations of the squad for next season actually look better than most people think. The youth set up is obviously the first place to look after the youth team actually came 2nd in their league this year after a string of excellent performances both in League and the cup. We''ve got Martin and Spillane back from Luton after they had a good season in League 2 and almost helped Luton stay in the division despite their crippling points deduction. Alan Lee has already shown his desire to stay. I have a feeling Lee can be a player of similar ilk to Leicester''s Matty Fryatt. I think he only scored 4 goals in the season the foxes went down, but this season in League One he couldn''t stop putting them in the back of the net. I feel Lee could flourish just as much next season. With Tilson building a team around those individuals and possibly a couple of others not only do I think we could get promoted at the first attempt, but I think we''d rape some of the opposition in that league on our day. One thing that is absolutely certain and is almost 100% happening now anyway is that the chairman and cheif exec have no choice but to be removed from their positions. Their contributions (or lack thereof) over the last 5 years have seen us gradually sink further and further into a black hole of debt and disarray. Hey, perhaps they tried! Maybe they are actually nice guys and you could have a laugh and a joke with them if it was another lifetime. If they really have given as much effort as they can give, then they are clearly not skilled enough for the work their position requires. Either way, they must leave or be removed by Smith. Their removal will mark the start of the rebuilding of this once great club.
Good, thoughtful and, above all, constructive post Superflash. I don''t necessarily agree with all of it but I wholeheartedly agree with the removal of Doncaster in particular.......... but I wonder what termination clause he has in his contract ....... how much will it cost Delia to get rid of him ?
 16.

Agreed totally. Anyone who thinks Gunn is the right man for the job needs to be sectioned pretty damn quick.
Its mostly the same people who think Delia and Doncaster are doing a good job , completely deluded and more than partly to blame for the mess we are in now. Probably know more about cookery than they do football.
Errr - tell me the name of one poster on this MB who has stated that they think that Delia and Doncaster are doing a good job.
 17. Gunn inherited this team of no hopers from Roeder. The fact that most of the players couldn''t get themselves motivated for key matches such as Ipswich away, Reading and Charlton shows what a sorry and useless bunch most of them are. I was at Charlton on Sunday and one positive that did stand out for me was the two players who really did play out of their socks were players that Gunn  brought  to the club - Lee and MacDonald plus Smith who Gunn "promoted" to the first team. Doherty and Gunn tried hard but, let''s face, it they really are a couple of cart horses.  Like many other less vociferous supporters, I have a high opinion of Gunn and believe that he has the potential to become a good, long term manager for Norwich City FC. He now has major surgery to perform like any other manager, be it a Boothroyd or Robbins, who may have take over the job. Our frustration and indignation over the shocking decline of our wonderful club should be reserved for Delia Smith and the truly awful self-serving directors that she appointed............. not Gunn.
 18.

Gunn and his coaching team MUST be given a chance. He has demonstrated integrity, people, and man management skills and has the respect of players, managers and people in the game at the highest levels, his ability to recruit Butterworth and Crook shows his acumen- Butterworth has the highest level of coaching ability and qualifications and with the creativity and excellence of Crook this combination provides an exciting new dawn for the club. He was willing to take on the trail of destruction and dessimation left by Roeder, appointed days before the transfer deadline with no money to spend...who else was queing up under these circumstances?  Roeder left the players broken and whipped and it takes time to turn things around. They have shown their love and commitment to the club, the least they deserve is to be given the opportunity to put their collective expertise into practice. The fact that we were still in with, albeit a whisker of a chance, of survival right to the last match of the season shows that, given a clean slate, they have the capacity to take this club back to where it belongs. Loan players by and large haven’t worked. Given Gunn’s brief track record of pulling in McDonald, Smith, Shacks and Lee who have shown passion for City then what a prospect to have a whole team of players with the qualities Gunn has identified in them. Appointing a manager from lower leagues would be a big mistake and smacks more of the lack of ambition the board have been accused of.
Frightening post. Absolutely frightening post. What "man management skills" has he demonstrated? Did he demonstrate them against Reading and Charlton, our two most important matches for 49 years, which happened to feature two of the worst performances in living memory? If he "has the respect of players, managers and people in the game at the highest levels", why didn''t he ever try to become a coach or manager at any other club, instead of learning on the job with us at the very moment we desperately needed expertise, rather than a complete novice? What qualifies him to do the job? That he''s a nice bloke who played in goal for us once? That he wants the job? If I want to be Prime Minister, does that mean I can have the post without doing a long apprenticeship first? He''s too nice, has no tactical understanding, and no experience. Leaving him in charge would be tantamount to footballing suicide, and constitute gross negligence on the part of the board. When he took over, we were 21st in the table, above the bottom three on goal difference. At the end of the season, we were 22nd, five points adrift of safety. We didn''t get better under his management; we got worse. Your final sentence, incidentally, is completely hilarious. You think actually appointing someone with a track record, someone who knows League 1 and has already proven themselves would constitute "lack of ambition"? Does this mean when employers look at someone''s CV and background before appointing or promoting someone, you reckon they''re not being ambitious either? No: they''re using their brains, and doing the logical thing. Unlike you, given the romantic codswallop above.
Gunn inherited this team of no hopers from Roeder. 19.

Though Gunn is not, and never will be,a footy manager,he does not annoy me.   The people who annoy me are the idiots who appointed him back in Jan.
How on earth do you know ? What a silly statement to make. Just empty speculation.
So his tactical nous, selection decisions etc have filled you with confidence for the future have they, L Snooty? Do any of his pronouncements suggest to you that he is going to make a go of management at this level?
Too early to tell is my point, particularly when you remember that he took over a club in turmoil with only days to go before the end of the deadline. Having said that he clearly has good man management skills and the acumen to bring in Crook and Butterworth. The problem is that he has been obliged to make the transition to the job of manager at a time when clearly an established and experienced manager seemed the more logical option .......... that having been said we''ll never know whether an Adie Boothroyd or a Mark Robbins would have done better. For the future, my view is that Gunn does have the potential to become a good, solid manager. Only my opinion of course. As far as tactical nous is concerned, do you think Roeder had this quality ? I don''t think so.
 20.

I have to say Gunn really annoys me. I hate it when people say "oh everyone loves Gunn" - no they don''t, I don''t. I''m a season ticket holder and it just annoys me seeing him on the touchline each week. When we launched the kit I felt that it was more about Gunn promoting his family rather than the new kit. It was just very very naff that his daughter was involved. Gunn loves the limelight and power that being manager brings. I was working on an event once that was put on by Archant. The lady who I was working with was talking about special guests we could invite to the event. Someone suggested Bryan Gunn, he comment was "No, not Gunn, everytime you open a door Gunn seems to be there", meaning he''s always getting his face seen somewhere. I have no time for Gunn at all.
Don''t worry spike, Gunn''s having the same effect on me too.
Not to mention the effect that you have on most posters on here Wizard

 25.
Greetings Canaries Assuming you dont get your get out of jail free card on Sunday and get relegated, I''ve compiled this guide for fans of a big club on how to survive League One, or as I affectionately call it, ''The Abyss''. As a Forest fan, we had 3 delightful seasons down there, so I know of what I speak. If you do get out of jail, keep this handy and read it next year, as safety often convinces boards that all is fine and nothing changes - there''s clearly something wrong at your club, and it often takes relegation to shake things up so maybe in the long run its best to get it over with. 1) Get over yourselves - Seriously, you arent the first ''big'' club to go down to the third tier, and sadly you wont be the last. Man City, Wednesday, Forest and Dirty Leeds all went before you - hey you''ve even got Southampton, Charlton and (hopefully) Dirty Leeds as company, you wont be alone like we were for the first 2 years until Dirty Leeds joined us down there. Expect a team like Derby or Watford to follow you next year. Sad but true. 2) Its a crap division - so get used to it, Crap teams, crap grounds, crap crowds and unplayable quagmire pitches - and thats just August. Worst thing is, you''ll be losing to some of these teams - you''ll be a ''scalp'', their cup final, they''ll be desperate to beat you, or they''ll put ten men behind the ball and say ''come on then, we''re happy with a point''. Its shite, truly shite. 3) "You''re not famous anymore" - expect to hear that alot. Best response is "You weren''t famous anyway". If its sung at their home ground, "here cos its Norwich, you''re only here cos its Norwich" will do the job nicely. Should you score and make it 1-0 for example, "one nil to the famous team, one nil to the famous team...." always goes down a treat. If you''re losing, or have lost, just grin and bear it. 4)  Your local rivals - Will be pissing themselves, on a weekly basis. If you lose, they''ll take the piss, if you win they''ll take the piss "oh wow, you beat <crap team>, woohoo lol". Suck it up, theres nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, you went down, they didnt, they have the bragging rights and you will just have to live with it - think about it, what would you do if roles were reversed,? Exactly the same - Your only hope is that they get a flukey promotion to the premiership, get utterly found out and become the worst team in history - this strategy worked quite well for us. 5) Ok pop quiz - Its late february, you''re a few points off the playoffs - lower than you expected to be after a dodgy run of results, you have a home game against a bottom 6 side thats shipped goals all season, its half time and its goalless. What do you do?  a) hope for better in the second half, go and get a pie. b) boo your team off becuase you should be turning teams like this over in your sleep. If you chose b, you are a cock. This isnt the Ryman premier, you;re not playing pub sides, these are professional players playing for professional teams, and theyre not going to roll over cos you once played in Europe. You''re not going to win every game 4-0, youre not going to win every game period. So what if you only beat yeovil 1-0 with a lucky 87th minute penalty, at least you won. If you''re losing 3-0 at half time then fine, boo away, they deserve it, but booing your team because it isnt men against boys is just gay. Treat every goal, and every win as a bonus, not a given. Some fans expect too much - dont be such a fan. 6) Promotion is the sweetest - think it was great going up to the prem? Thats nothing from the feeling of getting out of Division one. There are benefits to losing out on promotion to the premiership - you get to play in the championship, and that means watching your team play on a saturday afternoon, no ridiculous ticket prices and being part of a genuine league as opposed to a cartel of four sides with sixteen others who just dont want to go down. There are no benefits to losing out on promotion to the championship from Div 1, and when promotion comes the joy is augmented by bucketfuls of utter relief. Our promotion day against Yeovil on the final day matched any from the European days for atmosphere and pure jizz-my-pantsness. Promotion will come eventually, it is inevitable, Division One is like a septic tank - its full of crap but eventually the big chunks rise to the top. Now go my son, tread the oft-worn path of a big club in Division One, and when you return to the championship - for return you surely will - may you be a better fan for it.
Good stuff, thanks, grim but very funny !
