  1. I know there is a welcome planned for the home bus but not heard anything about ambushing the NCFC team bus. I really hope some of our lot are not stupid enough to do this. Aside form the fact it could be dangerous, it is one surefire way to fire up the opposition players!
  2. Sure I take your point however if the crowd are nervous this can sometimes transmit to the players on the pitch. Ultimately I am probably over-analysing everything and worrying about things that won't even happen. Derbies eh? Who needs them!
  3. With all due respect, we are on 48 points after 20 games. You don' t win that many games by just being lucky or "everything going your way". We are certainly beatable and as I have said in my other post I do give you guys a real chance in the derby but you have to accept that we have a pretty good football team at this point, it is no longer just a good/lucky start.
  4. If I may be so bold as to offer a Binner perspective? Essentially you are correct, the PTSD from recent Derby games definitely plays a part here, at least as far as the supporters are concerned. I am quite nervous about the game. Yes, on paper we are flying and should be too strong, especially at home, but this is a derby and anything can happen. A red card, an early penalty ( or just an early goal ) to you which quietens the crowd, you just don't know what could happen on the day. There is also a chance Sam Morsy misses the match as he is on 9 bookings. He is our captain and leader and we don't really have anybody else of the same type/quality to come in if he isn't playing. I also fear that we could end up losing our right back to a red card. It will either be Brandon Williams ( whom you know well ) or Harry Clarke ( local boy and fan ), both players can be hot headed and I feel it wont take much for either to lose their discipline in this match. I understand why many Norwich fans are pessimistic but I genuinely feel this game could go either way, we are strong at home but we do give up chances and I expect you to score in the game, it will all depend on whether you can keep them out at the other end. We are a well oiled machine and in great form but lets face it you are not playing Real Madrid here, its fundamentally two sets of Championship players locking horns and either team can win on the day. Whenever you have had the superior team in the past you have more often than not put us to the sword, I really hope we can return the favour of course, but I've actually got a feeling it will end in a draw.
  5. Trust me you do not want him back. whatever he once had has long since gone and he is now a truly awful manager. Take it from a binner. Besides it would be like taking your ex back after she had been with your sworn enemy, you just don't go there.
  6. Of course they can. I can't believe people are even asking the question to be honest. It's October, there is still over three quarters of the season remaining and anything can happen. We have had a good start but that's all it is, a start. Admittedly we have given ourselves a very good platform for at least the play-offs but nothing is guaranteed. Maybe i'm just a pessimistic binner but I really don't see where all this talk of the top two being done is coming from. I heard Andy Goldstein on Talksport the other day talking as though it was done and dusted, crazy. You only have to look at Sheffield Weds last season, they were 8 points clear of us in February with a game in hand, their supporters were lauding it all over the internet telling us to "enjoy the play-offs, if you even make them" etc. etc. and we all know what happened next. Only a fool would do anything other than be happy with the start whilst remaining humble and respectful of the league and the opposition. Besides, we still have to play you lot twice as yet and I really don't have fond memories of those games, especially at Carrow Road! There is still a very long way to go.
  7. Have you ignored all of my posts on this thread? There are always going to be a few idots with unrealistic expectations within any fan base but most of ours do not genuninely expect us to remain in the top 2 for the whole season. We know we are going to lose a few games on the spin at some point and only the most idiotic will start booing. After the horrendous years spent under Marcus Evans we are just glad to have our football club back to being respectable again.
  8. Cheers. I am not here to wind people up, just offer a persepctive from over the border from time to time. I respect the fact that I am on the board of our biggest rivals so expect to cop some flack a fair bit of the time. Par for the course I guess.
  9. I don''t disagree, not sure you'd be above us but certainly a lot closer with Barnes and Sargant. You still have a lot of good players and I expect come the end of the season there wont be much between us. Would genuinely love to see both sides go up but not sure I could handle a play-off final if it came to it. That would be unbearable!
  10. Not true, you have a very decent squad from what I can see.
  11. Probably an element of truth to that, and i'd take 4th all day long.A part of me doesn't want to go up as we would in all likelihood be getting spanked every week. Being a good Championship side and playing great football feels like more fun, the problem being that football never stands still and KcKenna will no doubt end up in the Premier League sooner or later with or without us..
  12. See, we did you a favour tonight, it's not all doom and gloom after all.
  13. I was here, and why wouldn't I be, a perfectly creditable point away from home. You boys got a good win as well, its all good.
  14. Now now, no need to be rude, anyone would think you were getting a little rattled! I never said we were anything special,....yet, time will tell on that front. Looking forward to the derby though, are you?
  15. Sounding a bit desperate there fella. I mean i'm not getting carried away and like i've said on here before I think we will probably drop away from the top 2 eventually, but we are far from ordinary. This is a very well coached squad of players that also have great momentum and confidence, and that can carry you a long way as you boys well know. We brushed aside a pretty decent and in form Hull side tonight, and made them look, well rather ordinary to be honest. Oh, and as for posession, well it ended exactly 50% each, but really, who cares? it's all about what you do in both boxes that counts.
  16. Silly boy, is embarrassing yourself daily on TWTD not enough for you? Perhaps come back on here when we have actually done something worth bragging about, as happy as I was the other night, i'm not sure our reserves beating Wolves reserves is quite the achievement you seem to think it is.
  17. Thanks. not being intentionally disingenuous, this is how I genuinely see the current state of play. Of course it would be great fun for me If Norwich were awful for a while and we were brilliant, heaven knows its been the other way round for a fair part of recent history! I really felt the Farke side was something special for a bit and could have established itself in the prem with the right level of investment. I just feel that certain sections of our support are getting too carried away with our good start , and certain sections of yours are getting too despondant about yours. I have watched football long enough now to know that things can turn very quickly. I bet a few QPR fans thought they were the dogs B's this time last year.
  18. Morning all, I thought i'd give my two penneth on this thread, being a binner and all that. In my view we are not quite as good as our current form suggests, but equally you guys are not as bad. We have a very good manager in McKenna who I believe is destined for the top, but he is still learning and is not infallible. It's not that long ago that we were struggling to break down the massed ranks of Cheltenham Town and Lincoln, and i've no doubt Championship teams will start employing the same tactics soon if they want to leave PR with something. While we look a very good side at present and score lots of goals, we are also conceding quite a few and at some point we will start coming out on the wrong side of the margins if this is not adressed. In my view We WILL go through a bad patch of form this season and possibly will drop out of the top six as the season progresses. It's early days and a long season, I said before a ball was kicked that I would take top 10 and beating you guys at least once, and I stand by this. That being said, we do have a very well coached squad of players whith amazing team spirit, momentum and togetherness, and last night showed that, with our second string ( 10 changes from Sat ) still showing the same ability, organisation and spirit as the strongest 11. This type of thing can take you a long way and if we get fortune with injuries and a fair wind we could well stay in the top six and make the play offs. I don't see top 2 as a realistic possibility. I watch NCFC with interest and any hatred I once had for you has mellowed with age. I would genuinely like it if both teams could make the top flight and hold their own there. For what its worth I think you still look a decent team for this level and have some very good players. If you hadn't lost both Barnes and particlarly Sargent to injury I suspect you would be well inside the top 6 and things would be looking a lot more positive. In summary, I understand a few people being concerned with the apparent turning of the tables but It is still September and there is such a long way to go, no sensible Ipswich fan is claiming any glory at this point, we are just enjoying finally seeing some decent and entertaing football after 15 years of absolute dross. Some Town fans had us as league One Champions this time last year and by December we hit poor form and the same people were sh1tting the bed and throwing their toys out, some even calling for the Managers head. By the time we meet each other in December things may look very different, but bring it on, I for one can't wait to have a competitive derby game back on the fixture list again. Cambridge at the Abbey didn't quite cut it for me.
  19. You are probably right, we have been left well behind and financially things have changed dramatically, however the likes of Brentford do provide an example of how it can still be done with astute top down management and careful recruitment. McKenna seems to be a very good coach but he is still learning in management and needs to realise that you can't always play like a Premier league Team in league One. You need to win ugly sometimes, and grind out wins, especially away from home. We seem to be looking for the same goal every time, a patient ( slow ) build up, get to the by line, and cut it back for a perfect finish. Teams have now worked this out and simply sit deep and crowd out the penalty area. In terms of our financial situation, the owners have certainly backed the Manager but despite claims to the contrary, I don't think it has been wild spending. So far they seem to be saying all the right things about being in it for the long haul. I suspect a play off finish this season ( even one that ended in failure, which seems the likely scenario currently ) would be seen as progress, even if a disappointment overall, and I believe they would give Mckenna next season to put it right. By League One standards though we have still spent quite a bit and I expect they will want a return on the investment sooner rather than later. Given that the only way you can really get financial returns it at the top table, they wont want to keep throwing money at it for too long in the 3rd tier.
  20. Resident Binner here. Not going to lie, after two good recent performances, we were absolutely woeful yesterday and looked miles away from being a top two team. Any team can have a bad 45, but after starting the 2nd half well and getting an early equaliser, a top ream goes on to find a winner every time against a side like Cambridge. That we didn't, and that Cambridge looked as likely to find a winner on the counter, shows me that we are not going to finish top two. Its not a one off, we have dropped way too many points now against the weaker teams in the division. It is looking more and more like play offs now, and even that is not a given with our current trajectory, which I'm sure would be highly amusing to you boys. As for NCFC, I am not actually a typical Blue that hates you guys, of course I want to beat you when we play you ( although i've forgotten how that feels! ) but my preferred scenario would actually be that we were both thriving in the Premier league, ala the Brighton and Brentford. Seems a long way off currently ( especially for us! ) but I actually hope you guys make the play offs. For me it is good for East Anglia as a whole if both clubs are doing well. I may be biased as somebody that grew up in the 70's and 80's but I believe both clubs belong in the top tier of English Football.
  21. Last time I checked the season didn't end in January, lets see where we are in May. You guys may even end up in the playoffs yourselves if your new manager bounce lasts a few more weeks!
  22. I know that was a glorious day for you, but do try and move on. You budgies are always harping on about past glories!
  23. I can never understand why you guys would make so many posts about your supposedly inferior rivals, that you clearly don't care about anymore. Funny old world eh?
