  1. So there are some optimists out there after all! After reading through the recent posts I was expecting to see "Worthy Out" banners being waved around Carrow Rd on Saturday! It was disappointing not to win last night, but we''re only two games into a 46 match season and are trying to bed new players into the team. Now that Safri is back, I''m expecting to see things improve over the next few weeks and there is still the possibility of making more signings (ideally a new centre back). If we''re in the top 6 after 10 games we''ll be really well placed to make a serious challenge on promotion.
  2. You seem to be forgetting that we''ll be playing a lot more games next season, pretty much two a week, so we''re going to need more options available to us as inevitably injures and suspensions will cause problems. Having said that, I agree that signing Thorne was a bit of a disappointment! Although I''m hopeful that we''ve still got a couple of big signings yet to come....
  3. I had a look on the FIFA website to see if there was anything about players contracts on there. Now before I start, I must add that my ability to interpret contracts, fine print and legal jargon is about as good as our defence was last year, so this is probably a load of rubbish. From what I can tell there are some new contract regulations coming into play from the 1st July that state: Article 18 - Special Provisions Relating to Contracts Between Professionals and Clubs   2. The minimum length of a contract shall be from the date of its entry into force to the end of the Season, while the maximum length of a contract shall be fi ve years. Contracts of any other length shall only be permitted if consistent with national laws. Players under the age of 18 may not sign a professional contract for a term longer than three years. Any clause referring to a longer period shall not be recognised.   Now seeing as Ashton signed in January this would
  4. I also thought he did quite well. Although having just read the main article on Pink''un about Green, it sounds to me as if he wants out of NCFC. I remember reading a newspaper article about him at the start of the year and he was saying how he really liked the fact that in the Premiership there was usually only one match a week, whereas in the lower leagues it was constantly Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Wednesday, etc. I thought to myself then that he sounded like a man who was only ever going to want to play in the Premier league....and to be fair, who can blame him?!
  5. It probably does. As much as I want Green to stay, I''m starting to think that in the long run it might be better if he is sold as at least then it free''s up extra cash for Worthy to start buying the players we need in other positions, i.e. midfield and defence.
  6. I got back from the game to find that my flat mate had Sky+''d the whole thing. I sat down with the intention of watching it, but after seeing 2 mins of the pre match optimism from all of us bouncing around in the stadium I felt ill and deleted it instantly!! I''ve drawn a line under this particular season and am only looking forward.... OTBC!
  7. I totally agree with you, I posted as much on another topic not so long ago. Obviously everyone is gutted with todays result, but with a bit of luck and everyone getting behind the team next Saturday we will be a point clear with one game to go. 5 games ago we were dead and buried, now we''re still only a point adrift, so it''s really not that bad. C''mon be positive, I still think the glass is half full and now that Fulham are safe, I really think 6 points from our final games is a realistic target.
  8. I agree, gutted with the result, but if West Brom lose to Arsenal and Man Utd, we beat Brum and Palace and Southampton draw, it''ll leave use a point clear with one game to go.It''s definitely still on but out of our hands now.
  9. Unbelievable, I thought that when we''d taken an early lead they''d crumble. I feel physically sick, watching Sky Sports Saturday is more stressful than being at the match! It doesn''t help that Le Tissier is commentating on the match either!
  10. After reading the Pink''un article about Harry Redknapp''s pre-match comments, I think he''s just gone and done a fantastic job of writing Worthy''s team talk for him!! Those comments should give Norwich, and Hucks if he''s fit, all the motivation they need to go out and all but relegate Southampton! OTBC!
  11. I think we need a minimum of 4 points from the next 2 games, whether that is achieved by winning tomorrow and drawing against Birmingham or vice-versa, as long as we don''t lose I''ll be happy! I can see Palace losing tomorrow (fingers crossed) and beating Southampton next weekend, but I don''t think they''ll beat Charlton on the last day. The local rivalry seems quite fierce and the Charlton fans I was sharing a few beers with on the train back to London last weekend were really looking forward to relegating them! And remember, this is NCFC we''re talking about here so there are bound to be plenty of twists and turns over the next few weeks and if it didn''t go down to the last minute of the last game I''d be disappointed! *     *obviously I''m lying through my teeth, I''d give almost anything for 6 points from the next two games and Premiership safety secured before we play Fulham!!
  12. Someone else writing off our chances this weekend: http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,9753,1472526,00.html To be honest I''d start worrying if any of these "pundits" actually started backing Norwich!
  13. For me it nearly went to Hucks (always gives it his all and a legend) orLeon (worked so hard all season and has improved massively) but in the end I had to give my vote to Greeno as without him and his saves we would''ve been relegated months ago.
  14. My friend had a spare ticket in the new infill for the Newcastle match so I sold my Barclay Lower season ticket back to the club for the night to see what it was like over there. Obviously the view of the goals was much better (just how many goals have been scored at that end this season?!) but the atmosphere didn''t really get going until the Snake Pit and Barclay end started singing really loudly. I guess the way to get everyone in the ground involved is to sing loudly from the start in the Snake Pit and Barclay end!
  15. Has anyone heard that new dance tune ''Call On Me'' by Eric Prydz? Is it just me or does anyone else think that ''Call On Me'' rhymes perfectly with ''Huckerby'' and would make a wicked chant?!
