1. It was 15 actually - and I didn''t include ''planning'' time [:P]
2. We seem to be going off at a slight tangent here...Golf? A bad excuse for a nice walk if you ask me!!
3. That''s fair enough really. The FL Board are just trying to cover all the bases (that was a cliche btw!) and ensure that any decision now doesn''t result in prolonged legal action later ala Tevez.I''m sure that when the accounts are ploughed through there will be enough evidence to prove that the holding company and the club are one and the same. Did anone else read the accounts that Jim Smith linked to on here yesterday? It didn''t even mention the bit of land that is the only other thing the hlding co own! And the administrator''s admission that the accounts were "linked" won''t help SFC''s cause.
4. Yes, I got the irony.Funnily enough I am very familiar with all manner of irons.[;)]
5. Thanks Scott!Actually it''s more the other way around. I think I tried too hard with the first one. I was aware that I hadn''t written anything on here for a couple of years and had always enjoyed quite a healthy readership when I did all this before. Consequently I may have inadvertently gone too far the other way - add to that the fact that I was feeling pretty melancholy as far as football was concerned and it all falls into place. The last two have just been streams of consciousness basically. If it comes into my head I write it down. That''s obviously the way to go. Note to self: don''t try to be clever [;)]x
6. Thank you Butler - that was precisely my point! It seems to me that if we are indeed in the middle of the greatest recession since the thirties we are all about to see changes in what could be termed the luxuries of our lives. Heading that list has got to be the number of people seriously able not only to buy, but to continually fund a football club. Many may have turned up in the past, picking up clubs on the cheap and running them on bare bones budgets but now even that feels like luxury. There are no guarantees anymore - not in life and certainly not in football.
7. It''s not though. It''s perfectly feasible - as feasible as Souness going in for Soton and that has happened!
8. You could potentially add York City to that list. Having spent most of their history in the leagues they now look like being relegated from the Conference. All since the owner ran out of money, sold to a new guy who ran out of money and now still (I think) run by the Supporters'' Trust. Makes you wonder what else they can possibly do - they''ve tried almost every avenue of ownership! But here''s a question for any of you who "just want Delia out at any cost (including administration)...":Currently it seems that Graeme Souness who managed Southampton for one season is fronting a consortium looking at picking the club up on the cheap. One season he was there for - hardly a hero. Now what if we were in that position and a certain Mr Roeder tried the same thing with us, picking us up on the cheap like a sordid second? Would that be better than Delia?I ask only out of interest you understand.
9. No - it''s ok.I think I got away with that one!![;)]
10. Any comments, as usual, gratefully received! Click here to read Thanks,
11. Absolutely right, Jim Smith! In addition I think the administrator shot himself in the foot with this quote on the BBC last week:"The finances are interlinked therefore the future of the club is in serious jeopardy," said administrator Mark Fry.The implications of that are obvious. The holding company is the club - without the holding company there is no club because that''s where the finances come from and go to. It''s not as if the holding co had other interests. It was simply another tier of bureaucracy and worryingly now it looks as if it may only have existed to attempt to bend the rules.
12. The latest news from the administrator is that they have had 19 inquiries but only 2 are even vaguely serious and these will depend on heavy reductions on the current liabilities.
13. It''s not a matter of blaming the officials for our poor season, and goodness knows we were well off the pace yesterday. But the quality of refereeing in this league has been as bad as I''ve ever seen this year.Yesterday''s man (pah!) hasn''t ref-ed a Championship match since last November. He''s spent the intervening period at Basingstoke, Rochdale, Brentford etc. For what could be a crunch fixture when you consider our position this isn''t good enough. Not excusing the performance from the team on the day, but this ref and his officials were a sorry bunch.
14. The officials for the Swansea match haven''t even been chosen yet, let alone those for a week later. You''ve been had [;)]
15. ...thus answering my question.Geez, how cool are you???
16. I''m new to all this Neil, but tell me...Do you like getting a bit of attention?
17.

I have been a season ticket holder for years and today my daughter who is under 21 could not go so my wife came instead. She was refused entry and we had to go and upgrade the ticket. I was next to an adult whoes pensioner dad could not go and he borrowed his dads ticket and was also refused entry . This has never  happened before. I asked what was going on to be told that the club was tightening up. I have renewed a number of season tickets this year and have got used to crap being servoed up on the pitch but this behaviour today pissed me off and is not likely to encourage me to renew some of my tickets in the future
Annoying, isn''t it. The other week I saw some champagne in Sainsbury''s that I quite fancied, so I took two boxes without paying and then they called the police and made me pay for it.  I''ll be using Waitrose in future.
Waitrose is just so much better on all counts - you know it makes sense...[;)]
18. Half time? After 20 minutes I''d have had him off, Lee on, Gow in the hole and Lappin to the left in a 4-3-1-2
19. I can''t understand this at all. Sure if the guy had been pants at Brum then there''s no need to big him up but that didn''t happen did it?When he warmed up in front of me I clapped him because of that performance and when he came on I stood and applauded (only partly because it was about bloomin'' time)...He''s wearing our shirt and he''s very obviously playing for us - end of.
20. The stewards have been letting people get away with this for too long. I''ve seen and heard of so many people getting in on kid''s tickets and morally when there are plenty of people paying full-whack it''s just not right.I''ll hold my hands up and say that on one occasion a friend of mine came in to sit with me on my daughter''s ST. But he is a full price season ticket holder in another stand so it was just a matter of moving rather than being underhand. It''s about time this was clamped down on.
21. It''s not playing him out of position though, Jas.The boy may prefer to play in midfield but there is no doubt he is a very effective right back.
22. Sometimes yes.It depends what the team needs. If the major opposition threat comes from their right then by all means stoke up the left wing with effectively two defensive players out there. Today for example I''d have had Carney off after 20 minutes and Lappin over to help Bertrand out on that side.Seriously, Smith has proved himself to be very able at RB (although he may not like it!)
23. Jas, Smith has played RB for the reserves and the youth team that got to the quarter finals of the FA Cup excellently this season. OK, so most of his appearances in the youth team have been in midfield but he is more than adequate up against men at RB.
24. That just proves that a poor decision (I thought ''keepers were fair game now - or is it just our ''keeper???) was actually a total joke.Appallingly bad officials today - and no, I''m not blaming them for the loss but that was sorrowful.I''ve not read many threads on here this evening so I don''t know if this has been mentioned already but did you realise this is the same ref who oversaw Sheff Wed beat us here 0-1 last season? Massive coincidence to get the same guy for the repeat fixture and a sorry one.
