  1. It will do him no harm to spend a season in the championship with us, he''s only 21 years old and will develop into a better player staying with us rather than warming the bench at Villa or Spuds. If he leaves us after such a short time I for one will be amazed and totally devastated as he will turn out to be the best striker we have ever had. Still don''t think it''ll happen though as by now he will have already fallen in love with the place as Hucks did and many others have.
  2. Ashton may well have a release clause in his contract if we go down, but my guess would be that the club also safeguarded themselves by making sure that the clause cannot be activated until after he has been here for say 18 months. The only way I could see him going would be if he was desperately unhappy and they let him go on moral grounds. But he has only just moved into a new house and I would be very surprised if he went. So stop worrying and sit back and enjoy the 30 goals that he will score in the championship next season.
  3. In my eyes Deano leaving is not even an issue, the only way would be if someone offered at least double what we payed for him and the fact that he will only have played 16 games in the prem would probably make it highly unlikely. If we are serious about bouncing straight back then I''m sure the club would dismiss any offers straight away. He may well have an escape clause in his contract but my guess would be that there may also have been some agreement where he would honour his contract until at least the the end of next season even if we were relegated. Remember he did sign a 3.5 year contract with an option of another year and that doesn''t sound like someone who is in a hurry to move on to me.
  4. Chelsea would beat us 9 times out of 10 but u never know this may be that odd time in the 10. If Deano plays as well as he did the other night then we can definetely cause them a few problems even more so if Hucks plays. Stranger things have happened in football and if we could turn them over it would give our confidence a massive boost. The problem is I can see them scoring at least 2 against our excuse for a defence meaning we will have to score 3 to win which considering they have conceded very few goals will be difficult to say the least, still we live in hope.
  5. I think Francis could go to somewhere like Charlton or Bolton but def can''t see Deano move so quickly. He may be ambitious but he is also young with a good head on his shoulders and he will know that it will only make him a better player if he stays with us for 2 or 3 years rather than go and rot on the bench at Spuds or somewhere else in the prem. As for the rest I think Helveg may be around for 1 more year and Jonson may well move on. Holt also needs to be replaced with a younger model and even though I would like to see Fleming replaced it ain''t gonna happen and Edworthy is not consistently good enough imo and therefore should go. Mulryne should def be shown the door and Mcveigh may be worth keeping if we go down. On the incoming side I would expect Worthy to be given around 3 million to spend plus any money he raises from sales and with that money he should be looking to bring in another centre back and at least 1 midfielder who is capable of playing a killer pass and maybe another right back. If we somehow survie then I would expect Worthy to be given at least 8 million to spend and then it becomes a whole new ball game.
  6. He has only been here for 2 months and has just moved into his own house so why the hell would he want to leave. He knew when he signed that there was a possibility that we may go down and he surely wouldn''t have bothered if he wasn''t prepared to play in the chumpionship. I know contracts don''t mean that much but he signed for 3.5 years with an option for a fourth and if anyone wanted him they would have to pay silly money to get him. My feeling is that he is very level headed and will not be in any hurry to leave as age is on his side. Hopefully he may meet a norfolk girl and stay for life.
  7. She embarassed herself more than anything else. Don''t really see she was having a go but merely trying to stir the crowd into making even more noise. Have to say that our crowd do frustrate me when they go quiet just when they need to get behind the players.
  8. The info came from a customer of mine who is retired and spends loads of time at the training ground and has done for many years,he is on first name terms with many of the players as well as Munby and Worthy. He asked worthy if Green and Francis will go and worthy  said Francis is in no hurry to go and will only go if someone comes in with silly money and the club decides to cash in and pretty much the same with Greeno. He also told me that Munby has told him that if we survive this season the club will go through the planning process to enable them to add another tier on the city stand with work possibly starting at the end of next season. He has no reason to lie and I am  convinced that the info is true otherwise I wouldn''t have posted it. Whether anyone believes it or not is immaterial, I am merely sharing what I''m told with others.
  9. Heard today that Greeno and Francis are very happy here and don''t want to leave, the only way they will go is if the club actually decide to cash in but according to Worthy anything below 5 million would not even be considered for Francis. Fingers crossed that they both stay.
  10. Even though I hate the sight of them if they did ever leave the prem would become just like the chumpionship, all the sky money would disappear and many teams would be in dire straights. They are head and shoulders above the rest but I do feel that teams are beaten before they go on the pitch, until other teams start to believe they can beat them they never will. Bolton have beaten Arse and Manure quite regulary over the years even though they have inferior players, this is down to having a manager who has excellent motivational skills hence making them believe they can win. Wolves beat manure at molineux last year and if we get our act together I certainly wouldn''t totally rule out 3 points against Chelski or Manure.
  11. Too many players not good enough especially in defence, so sadly relegation for me. Desperately hope I''m proved wrong though.
  12. How can anyone question Deanos ability after just 5 games? After the boro game many people were saying he looked class and while he hasn''t scored since he does hit the target most of the time and is not afraid to shoot. He is getting to the stage where he needs a goal to boost his confidence and if he can get one against citeh he will have 2 in 6, not brilliant but not a total disaster either. The problem is that no one is playing well at the moment and it doesn''t exactly help when a player is having to settle into a team so low on confidence.
  13. Don''t think the effort has ever been in question, more that too many of our players don''t have the required level of ability to play in the prem.
  14. Even though I would be very surprised if Bellars did come here I certainly think there is an outside chance that it could happen. Remember he grew up around here and seem to remember him saying that was it not for us he wouldn''t be where he is now. The place u grow up always holds a special place in your heart and I''m sure for this reason that if he did go on loan he could well choose us before Portsmouth and boring Blackburn.
  15. I was also hugely impressed with him, as u say he looks to have it all and he will get even better.  Even though he has only played 2 games for us he has already shown he is quality and is proof that u get what u pay for.
  16. I was going to renew mine even before we bought Ashton, having seen him play he looks a class act and will score goals at this level filling me with hope that should the worst happen we now have the firepower to bounce back.
  17. I will most definitely be there Saturday as I have been for the last 32 years and will be for the next 32 if I last that long. Merely pointing out a that there is still tickets avaliable which I find surprising at this late stage, must be some of the glory hunters accepting that we are going down.
  18. Apparently there are still tickets avaliable for the Boro game. People are obviously beginning to lose faith in our chances of survival, they have usually all gone this close to a game.
  19. I would say that 74 in 180 games is an excellent strike rate and I''m very much looking forward to many more from Deano in the future.
  20. The most important thing in all of this is how Deano feels and he''s obviously happy he''s made the right move. We have the potential to be the equal of many premiership clubs but it''s difficult for teams to compete in the first year but if we can survive the first season and add a bit more quality to the team we can finish higher next season. Deano is just a small step along that road and should improve our chances of winning more games. I am surprised that as a Crewe fan u wanted him to join an overrated so called big club when I would have expected u to be a fan of the underdog. If I was a footballer I often think that there is no way I would sign for a big club on principle, they have made the prem league a pointless competition and I haven''t got time for any of them.
  21. Even though we know we will never be a Manure or an Arse I certainly don''t think that we are a small club. If we had a big enough ground we would be averaging more than 30,000 this season, only the biggest clubs in the prem can better that. Deano will become a far better player by spending some time playing for us rather than going to a boring so called big club and never getting a look in. Interestingly Deano has signed a 3 and a half year deal with an option for another year  so he doesn''t seem to be in to much of a hurry to move on, it seems as though he is prepared to stay with us for at least 1 season in the championship. Havig said that contracts aren''t worth the paper they are written on but it''s nevertheless encouraging that he''s signed such a long deal.
  22. The best thing is that he has signed a 3 and a half year deal with an option for another year, obviously intends hanging around for a while.
  23. Gradi said the other day that Ashton was aware of Palace''s interest but wanted to speak to us which means he was not interested in going there.
  24. Just heard on Radio Norfolk news that the hammers have turned down a 3 million bid for Harewood believed to come from us. Still encouraging news cos it means we still have at least 3 million avaliable.
  25. Don''t really see how Ashton is a huge risk, if he scores in the prem we will stay up or if not we go down and are guaranteed 30 + goals from him which would help us back up. If anything I would say he''s a good investment and represents a good piece of business by the board even if we did have to pay 3 million. He can only get better and could potentially be worth 10 million plus in a few years.
