  1. Ha ha ha ha. Someone is bored. We should see who can make up the most convincing rumour...
  2. This explains the £3 rise in shirt prices then...
  3. I don''t know if these names of popped up before and if they have I apologies. But I think we should be looking at promising England-based strikers not the likes of Larrivey etc. Benik Afobe was immense for MK Dons and then at Wolves. He seems to perform in which ever league he is played. He is an absolute unit and has a great eye for goal. He was an Arsenal youth player who never got the chance until he moved on. I reckon he''d be worth a 5-6 million bid. Such a promising player. I also rate Connor Wickham as someone who, under the right management could be an absolute gem of a player. Yes, he''s ex-Ipswich and no doubt most people on here would rule him out based on that alone but for 5 or so million - I reckon he could be an excellent addition to our team. These players are both young(ish) and home-grown and I believe would increase in value. I''d love to see us buy Afobe especially - such an exciting talent. You could say unproven at PL level - but I think he''d easily step up.
  4. What do people think to Carles Gil of Aston Villa? Lambert signed him and Sherwood opts not to play him. He plays in very much the same style as Wes Hoolahan and in my opinion could eventually be a decent replacement for him. I also believe we''d be able to get him for less than £3 million. This isn''t a rumour, just an idea. I really rate Gil and am a massive Hoola-fan.
  5. I think Lewis Grabban will be our version of Jamie Vardy next season. No one is giving him a hope-in-hell next season and he will prove us all wrong! I''m not saying Grabban will be getting a call up to England, but I think he is going to prove that the gap between the C and the PL isn''t that big. I predict 10 to 15 goals next season. I have no doubt someone will doubt my opinion, but that''s my opinion and we''ll have to wait until the end of the season to see how close my prediction is.
  6. How is Grabban still being slated? He was Alex Neil''s preferred lone-striker before injury and then suspension... I like him. I think he''s work-rate and energy is flawless and HE DOES have an eye for goal.
  7. Brace yourselves Fenway Frank wants a public enquiry.
  8. It''s a shame there isn''t a ''like'' button on here Trevor Hockey''s Beard... Finally a bit of light-hearted non-serious humour. I''ve been in more relaxed board rooms then this forum.
  9. WARNING BEWARE OF CHIP20 - They''ll pull your posts apart more than your average grammer teacher. What ever happened to freedom of opinion? Apparently mine are wrong! This forum really is full of a bunch of wasters.
  10. I wouldn''t say that was a ''bizarre statement'' as we don''t seem capable of putting in a valid bid for one player how do we have the competence to actually get a player through talks and in to signing. I''m not panicking about lack of signings. It''s the way Norwich are being perceived in the press and footballing world that is getting me annoyed. We used to be reasonably descreet with our dealings and now every failure or ''cock-up'' seems to be getting reported in the press. We seem to be lacking any professionalism!
  11. What is going on at Carrow Road this summer with our transfer dealings? We somehow managed to get Mulumbu signed on the dotted line, but every other link seems to be laughable. We''re getting linked with players that are no better than the ones we we''re looking at when in the Championship. This whole charade regarding this striker from Spain and the comedic negotiations with Hull City are making Norwich City look like absolute rookies in the transfer window. Whilst everyone else is looking to add quality to there squads for next season we are purely adding numbers. If you think that Mulumbu is our major coup this Summer then I fear you are in to a big downfall when you see him on the pitch. He is an adequate premier league player. The way our Summer dealings have gone so far I can''t see our team setting up any differently from how Hughton tried it last time round in the Premier League. Sit back and hope to counter attack. Come on City! Show some intent! Austin from QPR Gray from Birmingham, Yedlin from Spurs and Van Dijk from Celtic. For about £30 million would make me a lot more optimistic. I genuinely think these are realistic targets, that is if we want to stay in the PL.
  12. Decent keeper and actually might get some game time under Sherwood, who doesn''t seem to rate Guzan. With Given now gone, It would be Steer as third choice I imagine. None of those three are stand-out players, so it might be a nice little battle. I''d like to see Jed start to push on!
  13. Surely changing managers on a regular basis is realistic training for if and when they become professional footballers. If they move on and join Watford - they''ll have to get used to five changes per season.
  14. Before his multiple leg breaks he was a phenomenal player with an awesome free-kick. His injury was a massive shame as he was exciting to watch. This transfer is five years to late for me, but I can think of a lot worst players we could sign.
  15. That''s a pretty decent signing for a fellow promoted team. He''s quite a versatile player and has international and premier league experience.
  16. I get where you are coming from... and I also understand a lot of rumours are just ''paper talk'' - they tend to get blown out of all proportion by the media. I genuinely believe the Newcastle rumour stems from Alan Shearer tweeting Austin saying he should join Newcastle. That isn''t to say he wont join NUFC, I just think it''s lazy journalism. There is a part of me think there are players out there that would want to join Norwich over clubs like Newcastle, to be the main guy - the top dog... Whether Austin is one of them, or if Neil even wants to sign him is anyone include the newspapers guess. To add, If I was a player, Newcastle would be one of the least appealing Premier Leagues to join for me. They''ve just got a new manager in who I think will do alright for them, but as a club - they are a bit of mess.
  17. What a statement that would be... Charlie Austin has so much potential and could be awesome leading our front line. I know it''s unrealistic but I''d love to see McNally and co throw £12-£15 million at QPR and get this English gem. He''s got more to offer than Rhodes or Ings - I genuinely think he would guarantee our safety - we''re better than QPR surely???!
  18. Of that list... I would look at: Ryo Miyaichi Brede Hangeland John Guidetti and Benjamin Amos
  19. Leadbitter? You''re a brave man! Brace yourself for the Ipswich haters!
  20. They loaned Atsu to Everton (a top 8-10 team), they aren''t going to loan Cuadrado to Norwich (a ''likely to be'' bottom-half of the table team). How they can spend over 25 million on a substitute winger is beyond me though... we can dream hey. I think Norwich, a newly promoted team let''s not forget will be looking at talented players from the lower leagues and less fancied players from abroad. Maybe players like Leroy Fer who wanted to prove a point but had doubts hanging over them (Failed move to Everton). I think we should looking at pacey players who would like to or have a point to prove in the Premier League. Gray from Birmingham and Gayle from Palace would be two players i''d be after - would cost the best part of 15 million to get them though. Plus they are English players with great potential.
  21. I knew we were missing one player from the regular links. I think that''s 5 summers in a row we''ve been linked with him. I just need Jimmy Kebe now for a full house.
  22. That is a terrible article. Martin O''Neil has an opinion - i''d sack him for that...
  23. I''d recommend reading ''The Secret Footballer'' before signing Berbatov. If you believe what is written in that book, you wouldn''t want to sign Berbatov. If like, I say, you believe what you read he is an ego and very disruptive in the dressing room. He does not mix with other players, which is obviously key to bonding and team spirit.
  24. You do realise a football club is business and therefore massive amount of money of any successful club will go in the pockets of its shareholders etc?
