YankeeCanary 0 Posted December 20, 2014 Incredible /prediction ability/insight/fortune/telepathy ( call it what you want ) from wooster canary this week. A thousand pounds on that double and the PUPS, who are already on the map, would have been off the charts.
wooster 134 Posted December 21, 2014 Thanks YC - I enjoy trying to pick draws but I''m afraid my consistency is only at 35% so I don''t make NN''s table.
YankeeCanary 0 Posted December 21, 2014
Thanks YC - I enjoy trying to pick draws but I''m afraid my consistency is only at 35% so I don''t make NN''s table.
Some of us are "at the table", Wooster, but wish we had a chair. No, my friend, your contribution is special because you do bring something different and it contributes to the whole, and many of us are starting to recognize that. Parma Ham's gone mouldy 2,227 Posted December 21, 2014 Yankee, WoosterThe profitability column is a good way to separate those on equal scores, though it could be used as a supplementary ''Pup''s Cup'' competition as an extra to the league. This would celebrate and recognise those - like Wooster - who turn their charity pound into the highest return... Risky bets won''t come off every week, but with Wooster''s draw-picking skills, or even someone picking Blofield away to Real Madrid on the last day of the season, could still win the "Pup''s Cup"....keeping every one in it til the last day....#justathoughtParma
YankeeCanary 0 Posted December 21, 2014 Thanks Parma. I''m sure Nutty is making notes.
nutty nigel 7,557 Posted December 21, 2014 I love having the profitability table seperating those on equal scores from the same amount of picks. And it''s a great addition to our leagues for this purpose. It''s also of interest to the PUPs in the hot seat as they may want to weigh up the chances of a value pick in the final six. But we must always remember that our principle aim is to raise money for the CSF. Our league table is a great way to focus minds even on weeks where time is at a premium. But if we got to the point where PUPs were taking a punt at big odds to improve their positions at the end of the season it would be counter productive for the PUP charged with finding six winners that weekend. The best thing we can all do is be consistent in the methods we use. That''s why, as Yankee pointed out, Wooster''s suggestions which give a different option, are valuable to us. I''m doing the stats right now so before I post I''ll I''ll put that alternative table here. In most cases the information is on our table anyway. But on this alternative table ordered the PUPs who have picked in at least half the weeks by profitability. I''ve left out us hopeless cases who are in deficit!
