"It''s entirely up to you how you use the board Wazza. You don''t have to post to please anyone else. But if you want to come on here and start a thread criticising individual posters then I suggest that you''re not being quite truthful about how you say you use this community."

Nutty, my OP was based around a few threads I read last night, admittedly not a fantastic sample size of this board but at the time, without attention to identity. You asked me for names, I reread the posts this morning and gave them. It just seems that from the posts I read I can clearly identify one poster!! It would appear the small sample size of posts is a fair representation of this poster considering his contribution to this thread.

"I personally can''t see why this community isn''t part of real life. Treating it differently means you don''t have to take responsibility for what you write."

I guess thats the beauty of the internet. I may misquote this but someone once said "On the internet you can be whoever you want to be. It''s a shame most people choose to be idiots".

On your last point wazza, we agree.

We''re different Wazza. To me what you''re actually saying is it''s alright to behave on here differently to how you would off here as long as you don''t call anyone a bellend! The way I see it is you have the same responsibilities on here as you do off here.

You will notice that my OP was very generic in context, and that was deliberate. I don''t know which posters are HI or HO as although I often read this board to get opinions I don''t really see the point in knowing who is posting - as I said before, unless I knew you IRL the only purpose I think it serves is to create some kind of virtual soap opera. It probably also allows me to post without preconceptions about the other people on the thread. Thats the way I use this, others are different, it''s up to them.

Third apology for the contribution to life comment, as I said I''d become disallusioned after reading some contributions last night!!

Morty''s reply here seems to look to deflect the points made in the previous post - is this a standard tactic?
Your hypocrisy is staggering fella.
This sums it up in 5 words. Please explain my hypocrisy. Have I tried to deflect something? I''ve explained my side several times (hopefully consistently), thrice apologised for the strength of words at the end of the OP, explained several times that normally I read posts without attention to identity but made my own decisions when invited by Nutty to attach names. Would you like to elucidate?

Unfortunately Nutty, you''ve asked me to make my own opinions and your mate isn''t coming out of it well.

There is no "i told you so" as football is purely speculative until a game is played. We can only go on previous experiences. I have put myself in the "out" camp but now feel it''s too late for a change. I feel a new boss in Jan could have sorted our glaring problems out and we''d be romping to safety by now, but I don''t know that.

I also didn''t expect Hughton to pull 4 points from Man City and Spurs, so credit where it''s due there. I did expect more from the Villa and West Ham games though.

Perhaps there was nobody decent available, perhaps the board think Hughton has enough to keep us up? Either way, despite being on the out side, it''s a fine line. 3 wins from the next 5 and I''ll climb back on the fence, but i''m just not convinced. I really do hope i''m proved wrong though and if we go down, there''ll be no gloating or blaming the board for not sacking him. The decision isn''t as obvious as people make out.

The hypocrisy being that you have started a thread calling for forum peace, two or three people have had a pop at me, utterly unprovoked, in this thread, but suddenly I am the bad guy?
You choose to ignore their behaviour, but decide to highlight mine because I retalliate to their idiotic comments?
You are contradicting your own op.

No no I totally agree, sorry if that wasnt apparent. In fact a lot of the sentiment around the OP was that I was a bit dismayed that either we had fans who felt that because we''re on an internet forum then it is ok to call someone a bellend (or worse) or we had people whose everyday personality was what comes across on here.
All of you are childish with an ego. Why don''t you all shake hands, move on and end this petty squabble.

Jeez
I will happily meet anyone from here for a beer and chat about football, and have invited people to do so on several occasions.
Some would just rather choose to stay hidden behind their screen though.....

This forum is about talking football, some people should remember that. We all support the same team and if some opinions don''t agree with your own I find it best to consider their viewpoint and argue with it in a constructive way.

There is no need for arguments at all; it gives this forum a bad reputation, which it clearly has.

And yes, I have contradicted myself by talking about non footballing matters and shoot me if you will :)

Ok then, but I''d hardly call them unprovoked. I''m guessing there is history here of some kind. I''ll spare both sides the "he started it" because no-one will come out of that favourably.

By the way, I''m intregued to know what Reggie''s agenda is, he seems sensible so far...

Reggie has the ar$e with me because he made some broad, sweeping statements in a thread that I called him on, and he realised that he couldnt actually back them up, no matter how much swerving and backtracking he did.
And as for the american idiot, well, make your own mind up about him.

How about it then reggie, do you fancy a beer with me and NN after the game on Saturday?

A useful tip - some might say that calling someone an American idiot and calling for all foreigners to be banned from this board might (and I''ll whisper this) be a little racialist. Some might, not all but some.

By the way, I''m intregued to know what Reggie''s agenda is, he seems sensible so far...
I aim to please, BW.Thanks. I believe most people on this forum think that, and indeed the vast majority of posters on here are sensible. I have absolutely no agenda, unlike Morty who, yet again above proves how he squirms like a fish on the line when people point out his childish insults and pomposity. Time and time again he goes out of his way to pick fights. I have no ar*e with him, as he colourfully portrays it. Some of the stuff he writes on here is good thoughtful prose. But rather too much of it is niggling backbiting, interspersed with kindergarten-esque name calling. There are other offenders on here, but the overall message you put ; ie we can do without the ''told you so'' posts (from either side).
Well, Morty. I have a time honoured Saturday pre match routine in a well known Norwich hostelry with good friends that I''ve known for 40 years or more.So why, in the name of sanity would I wish to trade that for meeting up with two people who regularly insult me and question my integrity on a public forum. ?It might be an idea Morty, if , as with so many of your other pronouncements , you actually thought about it and engaged your brain before asking idiotic questions like that above.

Yes, of course I know that. But, you may not be surprised to know that if I do have a post match routine, it invariably involves the same people as the pre-match one.  A bizarre concept to grasp, I appreciate, but there we go.And I notice Morty has squirmed again and not answered my point as to why anyone would wish to share pleasantries with people who make a habit of insulting them in public ?

You''re obsessed!

I find it utterly bizarre that considering how allegedly insulting and horrible both myself and NN are, that you climb over yourself to seek us out and engage us in conversation.

Strange, strange behaviour.

I think Morty was referring to your behaviour on this board Reggie. Even if I''m not on the thread you like to include my name in your posts with a manufactured opinion you can then argue against. We don''t have to go many posts up to see the suggestion that I call you a bellend. As if...

Now if I come across you in a pub I''d share the time of day or even have a drink with you. But I wouldn''t seek you out. My family already tell me I must have "weirdo''s welcome" tattooed on my forehead....

You must be kidding me right? You make it sound as if you have never attacked another poster for no reason, when you are actually the master at this.
People have you number on here, because as far as football debating and posting goes you aren''t interested.
Here''s how it normally goes. Morty posts, another poster counters his opinion with theirs, he then retorts with a non-football based comment either belittling their opinion or with an insult thrown in for good measure.
I talk to you like a person, each and every time, until you hurl and insult UNPROVOKED, and then I just give in and give you some of your own.
You''re no victim buddy, so don''t act one. And you aren''t suddenly the bad guy, you''ve earned that over time.

morkty suggests people look up my contribution to the forum to see what an American idiot I am. When you do so, be sure to scroll down the pages and see how many times my comments draw laughs and/or "I agree with Houston".

No doubt I more often draw scorn, but we all do. It''s natural to point out things that draw your ire (because they challenge your ingrained but inaccurate beliefs and are being challenged), but I do get more than my share of compliments from those who appreciate someone challenging the party line.

↑↑↑↑ Now I''ve REALLY upset him!

I''m still amused that someone who spends his career in Africa thinks blocking foreigners will make things better. I cant imagine the Africans are too happy to see high wages earned there being spent elsewhere, either. Your not the humanitarian your beer invites are intended to make you out to be.
