The only player I can think right now from Lincoln around that time was Phil Hubbard. Came at Christmas 1971 if I remember rightly. Did you mean him or have I got to keep thinking?

Colin Profirole!!

1973/74 season in which we finshed bottom, went from Saunders to Bond, and used a total of 32 players. Mr Profiterole still managed to rack up 34 appearances. With Keelan 42, Stringer 42, Suggett 41 and Forbes 32 the other 27 were quite thinly spread! Only one sub in those days too!

Do you mean gals or goals? Though given most footballers reputations the former is more appropriate :-P

Now I wondered about that and wondered if King Kev had scored more by then....

Can''t remember the fee or the goals but I think he''d played a long career at Lincoln. I think he was injured during the promotion run in. He made a couple of sub appearances in the top division and then left. I don''t remember anymore about him without looking it up!

The announcement came ''out of the blue'' so to speak and I remember being ratger surprised that he had scored 20 goals already by the time we signed him and how did we get him if he was so good ?

I think the fee was £20,000 which was what put it in my mind.

Never really fulfilled the promise as maybe the step up was too big, more so when we went up the the First Division.

Staying with Lincoln can you name 4 strikers who played for them at some time before they played for City ?

last letter of each name - H , T

Ha! needed the clue buddy.. Keith Scott.

Terry Anderson and Ken Foggo probably both had a stint on the opposite wing to Mike Kenning back then.

I think between you you cracked all the original questions. There must be a lot of old codgers get on here[sn][;)]
