Today's Rumor summary...

Recommended Posts

As expected, today has been full of rumour... Most are ridiculous, so I''ll avoid them. But there are quite a full of interest (and concern)

• The Holt incident began in January with the signing of Johnny howson who was given a far better deal than Holt. Understandably Holt would be upset, after two years loyal service and promotion winning performances, a new player arrives and is paid more.

I personally don''t believe the last 2 rumours, but can understand the first...

• Lambert is in ''extensive'' talks with Villa, and has told Holt that he will be coming to if he gets the job. (Don''t believe this one, the press would be all over it if it were true)

• Following Holts transfer request in order to gain a better salary, Surman and Pilkington are also considering a transfer request if their contracts aren''t improved.

The order of that last message seems to be mixed... Not sure why. My personal opinion was meant to go at the end :/

Re: Surman - he can feck off if he wants a raise. Pilks is a little harder to think through but I''d not be sad to see him go like I would Holt.

Damn! Can''t believe I forgot about Pacheco!!

And in my opinion, all of our players signed their contract and should therefore honour it. Can understand why they want more money (who doesn''t!?!) but still...

I would agree with that as long as players who come into the club take their place in the current wage structure. As you say all this is only rumour anyway. But I am firmly of the view that if the club''s captain is also leading goalscorer then he deserves to be at the top of that structure.

That is rather silly young master nutty as it weighs against those whose job is not primarily to scoreThe simple fact is none of this has been about money, but mostly about the stupidity of many of those who post on hereIf the club could only impose a charge on cretinous posts, then there would be no need of fretting about who gets paid whatThe players would be bathing in champagne and the streets around Carrow Road would be paved in gold

[/quote]All this speculation about ''getting a raise'' I should imagine, if the players/agents were clued up. They''d have clauses that triggered some kind of increase upon EPL survival.

As I said City 1st, we were discussing rumours.

However, I''m not the least bit scorist, but you will find that in general players that score goals are worth more.
