Do you sit in the Barclay, Lower Tier, E Block...

Recommended Posts

...is your seat number between 125 and 150?

You know who you are, the half block to the right of the steps, closet to the wall...is that you?

Well if the answer to all of the above is YES, then slow the hell down when you decide to sing at games!! Do you not notice that whilst the rest of the Barclay and Snake Pit are reasonably in time, you are always one chorus ahead and getting further ahead.

It''s not a race, there are no bonus points for finishing the song first, so quiten down and try to keep in time with everyone else so that we create an atmosphere, not a rambling echo of words caused by you lot not singing in time!!

It''s really not that difficult I promise you...go on...give it a try!

Agreed Essex but be assured it''s not just block E.  Fair few in other blocks including D where I sit.  Can''t make out what''s being sung at times. We used to be able to get all of "Nigel Worthington''s green and yellow army" in but now the singing is so fast that several years on, the green is being dropped by most people so it''s now "Paul Lambert''s yellow army".  One person near the back of block D gets so excited he''s started the next "yellow army" before the previous one''s finished!  Oh well, guess you can''t fight the tide..

I was watching a clip of the FA Cup game in 1967 between us and Man United at Old Trafford where OTBC was clearly being sung - very slowly and very tunefully - rather than as a full on chant - had a great effect a bit like when Spurs start off ''Oh When The Spurs etc etc''
