Match of the Day...

No mention in the discussion after the game that Torres should have been sent off.

John Motson said in the commentary that he supposed "technically" that it should have been a second yellow.

Presumably that would be for technically and deliberately kicking an opponent in the leg.

Time to retire, Mr Motson?

It''s one of those decisions when you know that Torres would probably have been booked for the tackle had he not already been on a yellow.

Referees seem to not to want to show a second yellow for a foul that, in their mind, doesn''t merit a sending off as its that incident that will be seen as the one Torres got sent off for, rather than that AND the first offence which, to be honest, might have merited a straight red-feet up, dangerous play-in itself.

That could have been what Motty was alluding to when he said it was "technically" a yellow-it was, but the referee, I''m afraid, bottled it.

It was good to hear Shearer being positive - shame Lee Dixon didn''t get asked to comment, as I value his opinion more than Shearer''s to be honest.

I also think that if Torres or Drogbha (or any other Chelsea player) had scored Holty''s goal, the technique would have been raved over.

The scoreline totally flattered Chelsea, 20 mins against 10 men and it took a penalty and a late gifted goal to beat us.

Let''s take heart from a fantastic performance from our boys.
