Yobocop 1,444 Posted April 30, 2011 On the last day we were last in the premiership we would''ve stayed up had a much better Portsmouth side not rolled over and died v west brom. There was a sense amongst some norwich fans that they didn''t even try that day and almost let tIe baggies win.Is it ironic at all that we could win promotion against the same team who in effect sent us down all those years ago? (similar to the Charlton ''situation'' last year)
Hissing Sid 160 Posted April 30, 2011 They didn''t send us down, losing 6-0 at Fulham did that. Even if they had beaten WBA we''d have gone down, we''d have still finished behind Palace and WBA (GD if I remember rightly).
im spartacus canary 0 Posted April 30, 2011 i think it was harry judas rednapps southampton they wanted to make sure went down [:)]
Boris 62 Posted April 30, 2011 Far as I remember if we was win over FUlham not matter other results we shuld stay and also if any one of Norwich,Saints, palace win his last game shuld be abouve than wba who start tday as bottom team but all failed and baggies win stay them........this never ever can happen in other country :)
Phyxius 0 Posted April 30, 2011 We were in 17th 1 point clear of the relegation zone going into the last game. We finished 19th. WBA and Crystal Palace Overhauled us.Even if WBA had of lost, Crystal Palace would have stayed up on goal difference.Remember the game far too well =(
Gingerpele 0 Posted April 30, 2011 Are you sure it wasn''t Wes'' fault for missing a Penalty?

Yobocop 1,444 Posted April 30, 2011 OK...maybe not the ''main'' reason but certainly a contributing factor?Wes signed for Norwich was it 3 years ago? How on earth could it be his fault?
Gingerpele 0 Posted April 30, 2011 It was mean''t to be sarcastic, because of the couple of posters seemingly thinking if we fail to go up this season the main reason is Wes missing a penalty.... Obviously it failed :(
Phyxius 0 Posted April 30, 2011 It''s his fault because he missed TWO penalties :P
norfolkbroadslim 225 Posted April 30, 2011 The failure to sign Ashton sooner, not managing to win a single away game all season, throwing away a 2 goal lead against Man City and twice contriving to draw against Palace when we were by the far the better side, sent us down. The 6-0 disgrace at Fulham was merely the icing on the cake so to speak
norfolkbroadslim 225 Posted April 30, 2011 Back on topic, I thought going off the thread title that this was going to be about getting revenge for the 0-2 defeat to Portsmouth in December.[:^)]
