Drinks - pre Ipswich game (Not April Fools Joke)

Recommended Posts

Looks like Police are going to close all the pubs at 4pm before our game which has really upset their fans. It does raise a few questions about drinking before the game though. Had intended with many others to get there early afternoon and set up in the Station Hotel. Do this though and what are the Police going to do with a load of drink fueled Norwich fans for three and a half hours. Can''t see them turning them out onto the streets. Other option I guess is to drink in Norwich before getting a later train and accept the police escort straight into the ground to top up with overpriced warm beer.

if you are in the lower tier you wont even get overpriced warm beer even! capri sun, that dodgy radioactive blue powerade and Fizzy pop all round!Mind you Last time one of our fans was a little bit rude to the young lady behind the counter for not having beer. There wasn''t a pump to produce any beer from! I did speak up for her to be honest as she looked like she was about to cry and the bloke was being an arse for the sake of it.

Surely their idea of saving money by avoiding police double time is failing rapidly here - with a lunchtime kick-off you really only need a police presence between about 10am and 4pm, whereas this is surely going to require it for at least twice that many hours, and no doubt with more officers.

For those who have been before - as I assume there''s only one mass police escort, do they hold back NCFC fans off the earlier trains until the final Norwich train is in then march everyone down? There are trains arriving at 18.11, 18.41 and 19.08 so could be a bit of a wait if you time it wrong...

Jas - we got stuck in the lower familly tier a few years back as we had a child in our application so we had the pleasure of finding out no beer served in this section. We just covered our colours and walked past the stewards into the adjacent home section and walked into the home bar which happily served us beer. Was worth it to see the faces on the home fans with us in their bar drinking.
