Jim Smith 2,611 Posted January 6, 2011 even if we have rejected this approach I can''t help feeling it hasn''t come completely out of the blue. If Lambert doesn''t immediately say he''s not interested then one has to assume he is interested and therefore not commited to Norwich City. If this is the case he will either resign (if he thinks Burnley is an attractive enough job - doubtful if you ask me) or will stay but the whole episode may erode the togetherness we have buillt up. Lambert may be disgruntled and I for one will not trust him not to jump at the first opportunity. Would the board trust a manager to sign players knowing he has been touting himself for other jobs?Unless Lambo stamps this out quickly and firmly then it could all get rather messy! When Saturday Comes 0 Posted January 6, 2011 Agreed - tomorrows press conference could be telling, one way or another.
Lincs CR 0 Posted January 6, 2011 I remember reading a few weeks ago that when we''re safe and in with a shout of going up the club would "go for it". One can only assume this is financially... now is the time to "go for it" I think. I really can''t see why he would want to move to Burnley apart from finances... they stand no better of going up this season than we do, and we''re in a far better position in the table and in such a fabulous run of form...I have to agree with you though Jim Smith... I dread to think what this will do the team spirit and the morale in the dressing room if this doesn''t get stamped out first thing tomorrow...

alysha 0 Posted January 6, 2011 the thing that worries me which has also been mentioned by someone else is that in the NCFC statement, it was said that we will fight tooth and nail to keep him here....sounds good that we will fight for him but it also suggests that Lambert has shown interest, if not why would have to fight tooth and nail to keep him if he wa committed to us? "could be that, hopefully its intended as a "hands off" warning to any club who might also be interested in PL?
Gingerpele 0 Posted January 7, 2011 If Lambert has showed any interest, and does not confirm he wants to stay here tomorrow, i personally will not be that upset if he goes....I think it will prove a couple of the Burnley fans comments earlier in the week (on their forums) That he is the type of person to jump ship at first opportunity/judas...... (and then we can get Mackay in :P)But i really hope Lambert does stay, he has been brilliant for the club, and if he stays i think we will go up and have a decent chance of staying up with his in charge.....
