Nutty are you going to sell rope as well or are people going to have to bring their own?

No worries Ledge mate, I''ve got loads of rope. And if Smudger''s in the upper Barclay I have a special rope just for him[;)]

I certainly do not have the balls to be swinging or climbing down a piece of rope from the upper Barclay mate.  Especially as I will be going with my Daddy (Senior Smudger)... I don''t fancy a clip round the other earhole from him this weekend! [;)]
Pffffft, all talk as usual.

Give him a gentle shove for me Morty[;)]
I would, but we have discussed it on an open forum now, which would be admissible as evidence. If you want me to do away with posters then we should probably discuss it in PM in future.[:)]
Right - No one is going to invade the pitch! This is a pointless thread as are all the others on this subject as it''s not going to happen.. For 2, no, 3 reasons.. 1) It''s pointless! There will be the old guard in the crowd on Saturday, who did it back in the day and would love to re-live those scenes. There will be the peewee chavs in the crowd who''d want to boast to their mates that they got on the hallowed turf and ruffed Oli''s Afro! And there''ll be the fans who think that because Rochdale, and Notts County do it, we should follow suit... And then there''s the majority (myself included) who sees it as pointless! So, you climb over the hoardings, run onto the grass, the team f*** off, u stand around like a lemon, climb back over the hoardings, go home and the team never do a lap of honour again (which the club has made clear will happen)! - yeah, right ok because that''s worth it for 5 minutes of standing on some grass when you could be watching a lap of honour or having a celebratory pint instead..! 2) Those who do want to go on the pitch, won''t have the bottle. They''ll just be waiting in the background for someone else to make the first move, and even then won''t join in because they''ll still be too s*** scared, so they''ll need another thousand fans to invade the pitch first before it''s safe for them to do so. But everyone else is in the same boat, so you won''t find a thousand fans to take that initial plunge of being the first on the grass and being arrested and banned for life, so nothing happens. 3) The stewarding won''t allow it. Everyone knows a good pitch invasion starts from the front. Do you think that the olds in the front rows will try and crash the hoardings and bulldoze the stewards down... Nah! Sorry to be blunt guys, but it''s not happening.
I agree with you here... that is exactly what is likely to happen... [Y]

I invaded the pitch by myself when we beat Stockport to take us in to the play-offs.  My mates who were with me at the game all said that they were up for it, but when it came to it I was the only one with the bottle to do it.  Pretty much just after the final whistle was blown I gave them a nudge as if to say lets go boys and I raced over the hoardings from the South Stand alone with a few Stweards and a few PC Plods in my wake.  My Brother who was sat in another stand that day said he had never seen me move so quick (the cheeky beggar).  I ran straight across the pitch to give Gary Holt a hug (I think he appreciated it) and was then simply escorted outside of the ground by the police/stewards.

Lets not be silly and say that there is going to be any serious recriminations for one or two individuals or even a thousand or two individuals if they enter the pitch to celbrate promotion on Saturday.  It is what many football fans have done for a number of years and the club would be the only ones looking foolish if they dealt with their fans in any more of a harsh way than what I was treated for encroaching on to the pitch in 2002.

As I will be in the upper tier this afternoon, I wait with intrigue to see how many are up for doing what they want to do.  Will they have the bottle, or will they be happy to be lectured to as keeping the sweet little Norfolk family club mentaility going and behaving themselves?

Hahaha! If only you were in the lower tier today Smudger, I''d have loved to have seen you steam onto the pitch on your own again! Haha. With regards to your point on the recriminations of the fans who do encroach the playing field, all we know is what the club say and they''ve made it clear that anyone caught will face some form of action. You can take this with a pinch of salt, but I just think it would be pointless to take the risk and then being the only unlucky bugger there to get caught and face a potential ban, and for what?

I''m sure most people would rather be on the pitch celebrating than clapping the players while they do this lap of honour but the fact is nobody will dare do it which i think is pretty sad, i sit in the upper barclay so its impossible for me to do it but we are probably the only club that wouldn''t celebrate with a pitch invasion. I''m sure the players will love doing the lap of honour while thousands pour out of the ground that is already 1 quater empty from people leaving on 80 minuites. We stand and clap the players after almost every match anyway while they do a much smaller lap of honour anyway. Invade i say.

It seems all those who would do it are unfortunately in the upper tier. I am in the lower tier at the back of E Block. I guess we could swop tickets. I''d love a chat with Smudgers Old Fella and I could sit to watch the game with him. I''m just so not as fit as I was in ''72[:O]
