Do not go gentle into that good night

by Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

          oooooooo0000000oooooooo

But far too noble for our shower, one suspects.

But still, no harm is done by reminding ourselves of a great poem - I hope.

And to Dylan [B]

It''s far too cultured for your average footballer.

A sign saying...

£5000 bonus if you win tonight.

In at 06:00 for Sunday fitness training if you lose.

would be far more effective.

I quite like this...

If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don''t.
If you like to win, but you think you can''t,
It is almost certain you won''t.

If you think you''ll lose, you''re lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow''s will.
It''s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You''ve got to think high to rise,
You''ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life''s battles don''t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But soon or late the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can.
Would  there be room for all their fingers to follow the words?
I''d be fascinated to see how many could read it without their lips moving!
