The root of our problems.

Recommended Posts

It has become pretty clear to me over recent years that the root of our various problems these days is psychological.

The key people at the club since 1996 have been men and women who think small.

All else follows.

Too simple? You''d be surprised. Think about it. Think about our recent Prem excursion - then work backwards--------then forwards---------. Eureka.

I have spoken to Delia and Roger on more than one occassion and neither of them think small. They might be careful as guardians of Norwich FC but it is wrong to suggest that they do not want the best for the Club.

Their main problem has been their choice of managers. That choice is not an easy one and unfortunately, outside football, neither of them have much experiance in choosing managers as their own business''s have not been anywhere near as big, in terms of personel, as Norwich City FC.

Delia is inclined to pray to the Good Lord for guidence and he has let a lot of people down over the years whilst Roger, being a Marketing Man, tends to read too much into the "crosses in the boxes".

Football Managers have a multi-functional job and they particularly need to be able to delegate and communicate and be articulate. These three "ates" are sadly missing in most managers who have come up through the ranks of "being able to play football".

During the disaster of Peter Grants employment I suggested that the Board start looking well in advance for his replacement. This advice was not taken so the Club lost time, and matches, whilst seeking his replacement. Hopefully our current manager''s replacement is being sort now and hopefully he will have the three "ates" . He should fit into the position quietly and smoothly and take the Club onward in a way that the Board, the shareholders and the fans would wish.

Well as someone who regularly posts in support of the board Bobert, your post is a fantastic summary of why they`ve failed and why they need to go.  So decisions at the top are taken based on what voices Delia hears in her head when praying?  Jesus bloody wept (so sorry Delia.....[:|]).
