The Horse 0 Posted November 25, 2008 I''ve supported Norwich since I can remember but I''m afraid to say I was only about 9 months old then. Sorry.
Camuldonum 0 Posted November 25, 2008 I certainly wouldn''t say you were a rubbish side but I certainly remember you in the Third Division along with Col U and Southend and, I think, Fulham at one time.I also seem to remember there was a very long haul to the long (League) departed Newport County................... Shifty Sid 0 Posted November 25, 2008 I''m 33, season ticket holder since 1994 - missed only three home games since then (league & cups) BUT this year might seriously be my last. I left on 39 minutes this evening and I''ve really just had enough. The sad thing is that everyone I speak to says the same. At this rate, average attendances are likely to be about 18,000 next year with credit crunch plus disillusionment.
Scot-e-dog 34 Posted November 25, 2008 I can''t be buggered to scan in my European ticket stubs, but I was there - I missed the away leg at Munich, but the away one in the San Siro I will never, never forget (and not only because of the scary as hell landing back at city airport that evening). It has to be said that I''ve kind of taken the last 10 years or so on the chin, but this year, more than any other, I''m so, so, so, so disillusioned I just can''t be bothered any more. There just seems to be no end to the misery.
Canary Poirot 1 Posted November 25, 2008 I''ve supported Norwich since 1987 when I was 8 years old. I''ve seen the heady heights of two FA Cup semi finals, an Uefa Cup Run, and some sterling finishes in the top flight. We sunk in the late 90s, resurged under Worthington, but never in my life have we sunk as lowly as we have now. This is without a doubt the worst state this club has been in in 21 years (bar last season under Peter Grant) and the continual decline seems never abating. And it''s not as if we have a complete deadbeat squad. Our midfield is at least as good as any other teams in this division. We also have an able goalkeeper and some reported excellent young goalkeepers waiting in the wings. It is however the sad state of the rest of the squad which is our problem. In attack we have one senior player actually owned by the club, and he is a fading force, and not considered adequate at this level anymore - Cureton. And the defence is the most shambolic it has ever been in 21 years. We have two young loanees playing full back, both of whom are suspect in my opinion at this level, and both need work on their games, particualrly positionally, and general awareness. Both get by by relying on their pace to get them out of trouble. Against the better opposition, this isn''t enough. Ostembor is also questionable at this level in my opionion, and is another who relies too much on pace. In the middle things don''t improve much. Doherty is okay at this level, but is no Mackay or Fleming. Kennedy isn''t a bad player, but leaves a lot to be desired - he hasn''t played regularly for 3 years, but he could improve. The bottom line is that in the past 13 years, the best back line we''ve had consisted of Edworthy, Fleming, Mackay, Drury. All seasoned pros, experienced at this level. They played week in, week out in 2003/04 when we went up, and were outstanding. They were the bedrock upon which we built our promotion. They were imperious that season, with Gary Holt sat in front of them (Clingan in my opinion can play this role ably today - a bright light in these dark days). Our defence is a million miles away from that at the moment, and the management team need to seriously think about how to sort this problem. The sad truth is that it probably can''t be fixed this season, and we will limp on hindered by it. Hopefully our midfield and goalkeeper will be good enough to keep us up. But next season, Roeder must have four seasoned experienced defenders on our books and play them week in week out. From that base, even with rookie strikers (Daley / Renton?) up top, we might prove a more serious force.

He was plainly completely useless and would never last the race and was always going to get the sack, but with the current economic climate (both within and outside the club), there does not appear to be any way out. Roeder is clueless, but is going no where. The players are sub-standard, but are going no where. The board has taken us as far as they can (and then back again), but are going no where.I just can''t see any way of improving and for the first time I seriously believe that Division 1 is looming. And our goalkeeper is competent. That might be enough to keep us up this season. On the face of it, I see Forest and Doncaster dropping, and then it''ll be one of us, Charlton, Southampton, Watford and Blackpool. I honestly think we''ve got more in the tank than Southampton. And Charlton are sinking. It does really depend a lot on January and who we replace the departing loanees with. Losing Lita will be a massive blow as he is clearly miles better than any of our other strikers (and shows how far ahead Reading are than us if they can afford to play without him). January will determine who drops, and that depends on how much money each of those afore-mentioned sides have to play with, both signing fees wise (which looks like nothing for us) and wages for loaness (any rich fans gladly recieved). Roeder also needs to start playing his best 11 players, regardless of any promises he made to clubs he loaned players off. Every game is critical. That means Hoolahan must start.
