blahblahblah 2 Posted November 3, 2008 After the false dawn of Wolves (was it our dream or their nightmare ?), the grinding home win against bottom of the table Doncaster, and now the 2 away-game defeats / capitulations against teams who look to be competing in the top half of the table, it''s safe to say that we need to see a couple of decent wins, and performances for that matter in our next two home matches. There is a glimmer of hope for us looking at these fixtures, as these teams seem to be as poor away from home as we are.Prestons'' Away record : 1 win, 2 draws, 4 losses. 5 for, 9 against.Prestons'' only away win was the first game of the season vs Ipswich.Swanseas Away record : 2 wins, 2 draws, 4 losses. 6 for, 12 against.Swansea are unbeaten with championship form at home (3-4-0), but are beatable when playing away.If we can grind out 4 or even 6 points from these games, maybe we''ll start to look with a bit of optimism at the TV match away to second from bottom Forest - he says, remembering the Scunthorpe and Sheffield Wednesday matches from last season, in fact any TV game since Fulham... Anyway, anything less than 4 points from these games should be considered a lost opportunity. with Forest, a mis-firing Palace, and a continually dour Wednesday to follow, November is a chance to fix the problems we''ve had and get some points on the board. blahblahblah 2 Posted November 3, 2008
0-0 written on both of them then
Well, Preston have kept 3 clean sheets so far this season, we''ve kept 1. Swansea have admittedly kept 5, so there''s a chance they might shut us out. You sound about as good at picking results as I do this season Jas.. blahblahblah 2 Posted November 3, 2008 Yep, sorry - 2 clean sheets. So things are twice as good as I thought they were ! [;)]
Beauseant 0 Posted November 3, 2008 I fancy us in the home games, but its the fact that we seem to turn to jelly away from Carra that really worries me.If we are going to have any sort of season its got to start in this run of fixtures against mid table sides. [;)]
[:D] I actually wouldn''t be surprised to see us get points from these home games as we do seem a different proposition at CR than the v poor shambles that seems to be turning up away from home at the moment. Even if we do though, BBB, we''ll be odds on to roll over and surrender the next away games. This season seems to consist of constantly taking one step forward followed by two steps back. Here We Go 0 Posted November 3, 2008 Now we can take three steps forwards and one step back, in the next four games. I think we will get 9 points. maybe ten if are goaly and keeper turn up for forrest.

As Beausant points out, the time to get a run started is now, a chance to restore confidence before a couple of winnable away games at Forest and Wednesday. renegade tootsie 0 Posted November 3, 2008 Alternatively we could get beaten very realistically in all these games including a drubbing on Sky with Earnie hammering one in. blahblahblah 2 Posted November 4, 2008
Alternatively we could get beaten very realistically in all these games including a drubbing on Sky with Earnie hammering one in.
You''re right renegade, we could. Do you think that the crowd, in getting behind the team (regardless of recent no-shows) might be able to help the players over the next couple of weeks ? Preston and Swansea have poor away form, do you think that strong backing from our "huge crowd who deserve better" might make the opposition feel a long way from home ? Whenever I go to the games, I take the attitude that I''m going to enjoy the experience regardless of the quality of the game in front of me. Are you the same, or do you need to be "entertained" before you give the team your backing ?
