What has been the ONE common factor during all of these times of the management eras?

The board.

They have not supported the managers anywhere need as much as they have needed to. Dont blame the managers (although obviously they take some blame) blame the idle board.

3.. would put his own management team in..

4.. has plenty of ambition..
