canary cherub 1 Posted July 3, 2008 But as it happens there is news from Watford today. The talks they have been having since April with an unnamed third party have come to nothing. What''s relevant to us is that the story says they have informed the Takeover Panel. Also that the club is still up for sale and they are still in a "formal offer period" in accordance with regulations.Anyone know anything about the Takeover Panel and how it relates to our situation? That''s why they have to inform the Takeover Panel. Doesn''t affect you in the same way.Interestingly West Brom have effectively put themselves up for sale with their Chairman saying a week or so ago that if they are to have any hope of staying in the Premier League they need to find more heavyweight investors than him - that was read as a "Come and Buy Us" invitation. He hasn''t got that much money, apparently.

sxcanaree 0 Posted July 3, 2008 By matter of interest the 32.7% shareholder in Watford who is selling his shares Lord Ashcroft is a Norwich boy (went to the proper Norwich School not the Cows National S***house like Cullum).Perhaps the reason why he is selling is so that he can invest in Norwich! After all he ticks all of the Archant boxes and whats more he has the experience of investing in a club down on their luck, riding through the goodtimes and walking away as the going gets tough!Surprised thta Smudger and First Wizard haven''t already called for Delia to do a share swap![:D]
Show Me What You Gooot! 0 Posted July 3, 2008 If Watford is still for sale I''ll bid £50.

As it''s Watford I cannot be bothered to go into it!

Norwich''s net assets on the balance sheet are £16m, that is 533,333 shares at £30 (total of £16m)Watford''s net assets on the balance sheet is £9m (Yes Norwich has more assets than Watford), there are 43,885,693 share so you would expect them to be about 20p, they are currently 19p.(Before someone says that you don''t work out share value like that, I know but that is a simple way to answer the question, rather than looking at more complex calculations like EBITA, etc.)
blahblahblah 2 Posted July 4, 2008 Hmm - There''s a lord someone or other, forget his name, he''s one of Watford''s major shareholders and oddly enough, a Norwich fan to boot. Could it be he''s selling up his Watford shares to take a punt closer to home ?
