Summer Spending......

Ok so there are lots of people on here saying we need to splash the cash this summer and I agree the board need to dig deep or we could be in trouble again next season.Now being realistic what amount of spending would make people happy this summer??I think i''m being optimistic but if we spent between £3-4 million on 7/8 permanent signings and got some good loan players i''d be very happy.  I''d be suprised if we spent that much but I guess i''m just more interested to know what would make people on here happy??discuss

not much to discuss really, you''ve got it pretty much right I think, I would be happy with 4 mill, if it included 1 or 2 Bosmans and with a few loans we would have a realistic chance and most of the faithful would be happy. If Tiny was 700k and Righters were 400k then that would be a good place to start. If the spending is not at least to this level then the aim will clearly be to survive in this division rather than anythong more.

Sorry have just posted something very similar. Slight difference - mine is asking what people think the bored will spend rather than what would make people happy.

In would we be happy with £3.5m. Though think I might be pleasently suprised come August.

I''d be happy with £3-4 million in transfer fees and Roeder being financed with decent amounts of wages to play the loan market.

I imagine, however, that I will be disappointed.

I think that after what we saved in the January window there should be £4million available

What there should be and what there is, are completely different things.£2m  and thats optimistic

You would hope there is £2M to £2.5M in the pot at least. In theory £2.5M could get you;

• Martin Taylor - £700K
• David Bell - £300K
• Maceo Rigters - £400K
• Hoolahan - £250K
• Gorkks - £250K
• Bertrand - £600K
• Cork - Loan

Wouldn''t be bad for starters but the size of the job in hand is shown by the fact that even if you signed all of the above and Doc/Fozzie signed their contracts you would still need at least another left sided player, a goal scoring midfielder and 2 strikers!

I reckon weve got about 3.5 mill. and i very much doubt chelsea would let bertrand go for 600k i think they would want atleast 1mill for him but hey i might be rong [:)]
