CJ 1 Posted April 21, 2008 Just watched highlights of match and do not know in what world the referee was in on Saturday. David Marshall clearly got two hands on the ball and then had a WBA player fell on him and kneed the ball out of his hands. Even if it wasnt a foul for laying on the keeper thus interferring certainly was for knocking ball out of hands. I know keepers get too much protection at times but that wasnt a fifty fifty ball the player made it his by GBH on Marshall!Having said that why the hell didnt the defender just hack it clear
Duffman 0 Posted April 21, 2008 The worst decision of the day was blowing up for a ''so called'' foul by Camara and then promptly booking Doherty.Did I miss something there ? Camara and Doherty are hardly look alikes.

Old Boy 0 Posted April 21, 2008 Surely the worst decision was playing on for a minute after the handball until someone got the idiot to look at his linesman. Truly the most inept ref I''ve ever seen at this level.

Baldyboy 1 Posted April 21, 2008 as a fellow ref to say i was embarassed with his handling (no pun intended) of the penalty was a disgrace. to miss it from that close and the assistant to see it and not notice the flag was terrible. in his defence of the first goal though, it was a fair goal as the city defender cleared pushed the striker into marshall causing him to drop the ball, so that could have been a pen too. his overall peerformance was shocking though. CJ 1 Posted April 21, 2008 As a fellow ref myself you clearly have not looked at your rule book recently! The defender clearly was in control of the ball and had the ball within playing. The attacker was trying to push past him to get the ball from BEHIND him. He then fell over the defender as he pushed through falling onto the goalkeeper kneeing the ball as he fell out of the keepers hands. At best the push was shoulder to shoulder hardly a penalty! If you were correct every time a defender shielded the ball going out of play he would be given a foul against! Go back and read the rule book please!
colneycanary 0 Posted April 22, 2008 As your talking about west brom''s first goal, may i just add that west brom had two players clearly offside before the ball got played into our penalty area before the marshall incident. . The linesman did not see it but everyone near me all saw it and gave the linesman so much stick for not keeping up with the play. This is why the linesman gave the penalty to even things up i believe. But i have to agree the ref was a disgrace. I felt like running onto the pitch and chinning him one, he annoyed me so much!
