6 Games ago we'd have taken this....

.....SO STOP MOANING!!!!

You can''t have everything. Cast your mind back a few weeks when we went down 3/0 against Plymouth. We were if i remember correctly, adrift at the bottom and seeing no escape from relegation! 6 games ago if you''d have said we''d be out of the bottom 3 most would have laughed before snapping your hand off! We are, and we arfew only 2 points off 17th, of which we were well adrift 6 games ago.

Yes, we didnt play well, but where we are in the league its going to be ugly. It doesnt change the fact that we''ve won 4 out of 6, lost just 1 from 6 and taken 13 points from a possible 18, now thats title winning form!

So will the doom andgloom merchants stop whinging!!!

I certainly agree with Huddy.

Ok, Colchester are one of those sides you would always ''expect'' us to beat when you look at the fixtures, but back in the real world we are a side that was (5pts?) clear at the bottom of the league barely 3 weeks ago, our last performance being a particularly dire one at Plymouth.  At the time, many people on here could not see where the next win (or even the next point) was going to come from and had us as nailed-on certainties for relegation - and these same people castigated anyone who thought that we had even a remote chance of staying up.  Going into yesterday''s game we had a record of just one win and one draw out of 10 games on the road.

When you put these things into perspective, a draw was surely not a bad result - yet they get slagged off for it.  They really can''t ''win'' with some, can they?

Quite right Huddy, we have come a long way in six games but there is still a much longer way to go to achieve safety and their will be bumps along the way.  The problem with many posters on here is they seem to lurch from one extreme to the other - after yesterday its all doom and gloom again; but after Sheff Utd there were people on here saying we can make the playoffs.

The truth is we are a pretty average side at the moment and survival would be a good achievement, anything more a real bonus.  If we want to be anything more than that then the Board have to put up some money to get quality players in (I am not talking ridiculous sums here but rather the going rate - for example, £1M+ for a Premiership CB who has shown his value here on the pitch).  That the price of Prem players who cannot even make the reserves at their home teams is so high is another matter, but sadly if we dont pay it someone else will so that is the going rate for him.

Back back on topic, yes you are right I would have bitten your hand off for this position after Plymouth - spot on.

Huddy of course you are right, but to continue it we should fork out for Taylor and continue the run or we will be back to square one in a few weeks, thats not moaning just being practical, agreed?

I agree we need to fork out some money in january for sure. We need a centre half, we need to keep pattison, we need a left back (camara or not) and we need a striker of some description. I think roeder recognises that we need more than 1 player, and he is right not to chuck all his eggs into 1 basket.

If however 1st February comes, we''ve spent no real money, we''ve either lost the loan players and brought in no quality and are back to a squad not much better than the Grant era and are adrift in the bottom 3, then yes by all means be worried. However, i dont think this will happen. Roeder could have perhaps afforded tayylor jusging by what he said, but that would have been his only signing. We have to trust Roeder that he spends what we have wisely.

Spend a litlte, Live alot!
