David Connolly and Paddy Boyle due to sign.

I have heard from a reliable source that Connolly of Sunderland and Boyle of Everton who we had last season are due to sign until January with view to permanent move.

I would like Connolly but not Boyle.

He was crap when we had him here last year so I don''t see why we are trying to get him again, Connolly is a proven goalscorer at this level but he turned us down 3 or 4 years ago if I remember rightly, let him rot in slumberlands reserves.

I said i thought Connolly might have been the striker Roeder, was talking about when he mentioned being up and down from the prem, and always doing well in the championship, he does seem to have consistency and is a decent striker, wouldnt set the world on fire, but would get in the starting lineup.Only problem is that he doesnt exactly lead the line.

Boyle, not for me thanks.once and never again.

Connolly would be a superb signing. Super sharp brain, two footed, very good passer of the ball, also good at keeping the ball and bringing others in to play, and most importantly he knows where the goal is.
