Barry Brockes 157 Posted November 6, 2007 I know, or at least when he was alive I knew, Jonny Wilkinson''s grandad and to the best of my knowledge he never played football for NCFC. If he did, it never came out in all the years I knew him. He was a rugger man through and through. He was the Manager of the Norwich Union Branch which used to be on the corner of King Street, opposite Anglia TV, which is how I knew him as I worked for him for many years. His name was Philip although everyone knew him as Pip. His son, now Jonny''s Manager, also worked for NU at their Reading Branch before setting out as an Insurance Broker in that area which is where Jonny was born. Pip Wilkinson lived in Swardeston and passed away last year. Both his son, also a Philip, and Jonny attended the funeral. It was the first time I met Jonny and he is as nice as he seems.
