Grando 336 Posted June 29, 2007 So now that Charlton have somehow got £16.5 million for Bent, do we expect them to make a move for Earnshaw - or will they just jump to the front of the queue for Eastwood and any other targets we might have!?
One Flew Over... 33 Posted June 29, 2007 I was thinking the same after hearing how much they got for him. Plus Ipswich are rumoured to get 20%..so over 3 million for them - they had better not go for Eastwood as well [:(]We can''t compete with Charlton - so if they want any of our targets we''ll have to look elsewhere. AJ 1,359 Posted June 29, 2007 Spurs have not actually spent 16.5 millionThey have cleverly spread the deal over three years, paying 5 million each year.Hence the large sum for Bent. So, Charlton only recieve 5 million this time round.
Grando 336 Posted June 29, 2007 So presumably the binners will get their 2.58 mill in 3 installments? Let''s hope so. (Maybe they''ll give it back to some of the creditors who lost out when they went into administration, I don''t think!)
mbncfc 1 Posted June 29, 2007 It seems the official site boards are getting exciting about Cureton nearing a deal to come here. The fee for Earnie to Charlton is being quoted as somewhere between £3m and £5m, presumably including add-ons.If we accept a bid like that for Earnshaw, we must announce it and try to get other clubs involved and get more money - especially Derby, or lower Premiership teams. Surely he''d rather go to a Premiership side?? There are no guarantees Charlton will go up. If Darren Bent is worth £16.5m, and Billy Sharp and Freddie being quoted at £3m, Earnie must be £5m.I have to admit, providing we bring in two strikers if he leaves, that I''m sure we will be ok without Earnie. He always scores goals, but is it at the expense of sharing them around the team? We scored more as a team, and didn''t perform particularly worse, when he was injured.Anyways, I think we''ll be hearing something on these soon.

Norwich Union will be highly delighted.
Smudger 0 Posted June 29, 2007 If we let Earnie go for anything less than £5million then we are an absolute JOKE... and If Charlton can get £17million for Bent who is no better then we should be asking for near £10million off them if they put an enquiry in for Earnshaw.
