Ulf Ottosson 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Given that everyone thinks Safri is on the way out, Etuhu is universially derided, the jury is out on Forringham and Hughes is not up to the task - who are we going to play in the middle of the park next season? Given we seem to want a new RB, CB and now add to this potential a new midfield partnership! Forget it with the parachute payments gone we''ll never be able to afford quality replacements. Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Clearly we will have to bring in some new players if Safri goes. I think Grant will want to reinforce the midfield anyway!

WilliamG 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Fotheringham and Lappin. Move Huckerby back to the left.Earnshaw and Martin up frontSorted. Croft can also play in the middle if you''re playing chadwick on the right (who can equally, play anywhere across the middle)

Syteanric 1 Posted March 9, 2007 no ones snappned Matt Jansen up yet.. he was released after his car accident a couple of seasons ago with Blackburn. surely its time someone gave him a chance.jas :)
JC 0 Posted March 9, 2007 Lappin is not a central midfielder. He demonstrated that when he played there.Losing Safri in my opinion would be stupid. With a good attacking midfielder alongside him (ie not Etuhu) he is still one of the best passing defensive central midfielders in the division. If he goes, he will end up with one of the bigger teams in the division and we will probably end up being scythed apart by him next season. [quote user="ButchP"]Fotheringham and Lappin. In Dubious Battle 0 Posted March 9, 2007 Lappin only cost £50,000 and so far looks like he''s more than capable, let''s hope grant can find a few more like him.

Didnt we win like a single game in which he played centrally!! In fact that has reminded me of when he played left wing!!! christ.Anyway I agree, Safri needs a decent partner in the centre (ie not etuhu), whom can do all the forward stuff, Fozzy could well be good enough. Hopefully he will get a fair few games there alongside Safri in a 4-4-2 for the rest of the season.

If he was that great then he wouldn''t have a problem finding a club!
allways travelling 0 Posted March 10, 2007 I cant and will not forgive the manager and the board if they let someone with the quality safri has leave this club they should be building the midfield round him.
