whoareyou? 0 Posted November 3, 2006 According the the Stun this morning, we are stll owed a substantial part of Dean Ashton''s transfer fee by West Ham and they had kept it quiet from this businessman who wanted to buy West Ham, putting the whole deal in doubt! How do you hide the best part of £7 million ????? komakino 282 Posted November 3, 2006 Interesting if true. That could explain our [apparant] lack of funds. In turn, did we pay Crewe the full 20% sell on fee that they were owed?Football transfer fees are rarely paid in full these days and this appears to be no exception.Maybe someone should e-mail Doomcaster on this subject? Herb 0 Posted November 3, 2006 We should take back the goods ''till they pay up if it''s true.Used to work for me in the motor trade. [;)]
canary cherub 1 Posted November 3, 2006 As I understand it we paid Crewe in instalments, and West Ham are paying us in instalments too. There doesn''t appear to be any suggestion that West Ham are behind with their payments, simply that they didn''t tell the prospective buyers. On the other hand, if the buyers are looking for a getout, it''s a convenient excuse . . .If they do pull out for whatever reason, I doubt whether many Hammers fans will be too upset. HappyhammerAndy 0 Posted November 3, 2006 Ashton is something else, wot a player. Got to be worth at least £15m? WHU turned down a bid from Arsenal for Reo-Coker for £12m, and he rarely scores.Tevez and Ashton upfront will take the premiership by a storm when Ashton is fit, (if we''re still there).Ashton will be a regular for the England squad for years. Thks for looking after him and Green for us. See ya in the premiership
HappyhammerAndy 0 Posted November 4, 2006 Don''t worry about your dosh old Chap. You can have it out of the profit we''ve made on him. Both deals are still on and an announcement should be made soon. Andy
HappyhammerAndy 0 Posted November 4, 2006 You''re not ''avin him, he is class.Tevez and Ashton up front, can''t wait for the new year. Most deals today have add ons and dates for interim payments. Andy
a1canary 0 Posted November 5, 2006 Arsenal don''t want R-C for his goals - Viera was never a regular scorer but look how important he was to them. They still haven''t properly replaced him and it looks like Wenger is still flirting with him from what i can see...!http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/6094138.stm
a1canary 0 Posted November 5, 2006 Eh? That link has changed! It was the preview for the match and featured Wenger saying how much he liked Reo-Coker...
