unrated: Not seen them play enough to give a judgement.

A good rating system proposed there Bachhus by another name.

Gallacher (6), Camp (unrated), Lewis (unrated)

Rossi Jarvis (unrated), Andrew Cave-Brown (unrated), Patrick Boyle (4), Matthew Halliday (unrated), Mathieu Louis-Jean (unrated), Adam Drury (7), Jason Shackell (7), Craig Fleming (4), Jurgen Colin (4), Gary Doherty (5)

Carl Robinson (5), Andy Hughes (4), Dickson Etuhu (6), Michael Spillane (unrated), Robert Eagle (unrated), Andrew Fisk (unrated), Yousef Safri (7), Lee Croft (8)

Dion Dublin (5), Robert Earnshaw (8), Peter Thorne (2), Darren Huckerby (8), Paul McVeigh (6), Ian Henderson (4), Ryan Jarvis (5)

I think Huckerby is a good player but I think he is a bit overrated, i think he actually falls in to a bit of a no-mans land between the premiership and the championship.

I am just going to give a quick assesement of our squad in each department.

Goalkeepers

We for the first time in years, dont appear to have a top quality goalkeeper. Gallagher has not won me over, yesterdays last goal in particualar showed that his positiong is not up too scratch. He usually is a decent shot stopper, but is catching from crosses and his geerall command is poor. Camp should be given a go. Lewis will be good but obviously isnt redy.

Defenders

We have a massive problem in defence. Drury is a key player and is vital to our success at home, while boyle is totally inept (4/10). At centre half we dont have one commanding player. Shackell would be my first pick because he is young and needs a run of games, (7/10), Doherty in my opinion has been poor this season and has been at fault for a number of goals, and was overated last season. We are in desperate need of a new, commanding centre half as Fleming is unfortunately too slow and past it. At right back Jurgen Colin is improving but still is not a top quality championship defender and has a worrying mentality of not crossing the half way line, while matheui Louis jean cannot stand out against stevenage reserves and really should be sold from what ive seen of him. We have decent youngsters who would surely do a better job than fleming, louis jean etc in the squad. Rossi Jlooks assured and should be given more off a chance and Andrew cave-brown when fit is also perfectly capable.

Centre Midfield

In my opinion we only have 1 centre midfielder too build a team around and that is Etuhu. He has been a bit inconsistent of late but is usually at the heart of what are midfeild does. I have lost patience with Youseff Safri, i can remmeber him having 2 good games since last Xmas, hardly consistent is it!. While robinson i believe would be handy if we play a 3 man field alongside Etuhu and someone new. Hughes can be good at times, but is far too inconsistent to be considered a valuable squad member of a championsip side. We desperately need 1 or 2 in and 1 or 2 out in our midfeild. At the moment for example i would much rather see Spillane in the team than Safri or hughes. He has always impressed when used before and is the sort of player who could be pivotal for us in years to come.

Wingers

It is clear to every norwich fan that when we paly 4-3-3, our best choice line up is on paper one of the best attacking line ups in the division. Darren Huckerby is still just about as good as ever and must be offered a new contract, while Croft is still young and appears avery good bit of business by Mr worthington. Its in reserve we have a problem if one of these get injured. I have always said Henderson is a decent player, and the widde right position in the 4-3-3 would probably suit him down to the ground, when fit this is where he perhaps should be deployed if croft is unan#vaialble. Paul Mcveigh is a waste of space and clearly has an attitude proble, and Rob eagle should be used if hucks is out. We could however do with another option in this area.

Strikers

We have Rob Earnshaw as our number 1 and is performances on the whole this season have been very good, but we do need someone else to come in or step up. The 4-4-2 formation will have to be deployed at times and we will need to goalscoring forwards. The arrival of Freddy Eastwood or Billy sharp would please me no end. Ryan Jarvis if there is a space needs a run in the team to see whether he is up to it, reserve games or 5 minute cameos arent enough. I had my doubts but Dion Dublin could be handy Sub, but sub only. He isnt up to 90 minutes, only 30 and so cannot be reiled on and neither can Peter thorne who is proven to be useless.

In Conclusion

We have the basis of a good team which would be enhanced by 2/3 new signings and the influence of a couple of  younger places. Peter Grant needs to build a team around Drury, shackell , Croft, Etuhu, Huckerby and Earnshaw
