Hannibal 0 Posted October 10, 2006 I have sat here and read numerous posts about how the board is the real problem with this football club. I can''t put what i would like to put in responce to that but i can say its utter rubbish! people in football have such short term memories, would you rather have Robert Chase back? our board are in a position where they are trying to stabalise the club for the future and ensure that one day my kids and grandkids will be able to watch the famous yellow and green at carrow road! I must be living in a differant part of Norfolk as i can''t see too many billionaires to fund our club and run it as well as Delia, and Co have and with as much passion. We must not loose sight of what makes OUR club so special and that is the atmosphere around the place. Its a family club! Would Huckerby have came to Norwich had the fans been like they are now when he was on loan? I very much doubt it! Personaly i have an open mind to who the new manager might be and which ever one we get i belive should start with a clean slate! Some managers do well at some clubs and not a others! Worthington was awful when he was at Blackpool!Mcleish, Hoddle or Souness would be welcome by me with open arms as i think they are managers with real potential! Souness managed to get Blackburn back to the Prem and make them a serious contender for Europe! Hoddle is slighly odd but you need something about you as a football manager and i think he would give the players lots of confidance. Mcleish is tough and bullish and i would really welcome him more than anyone as i belive he has the grit and tactical know how to do well at this level. In short we are a great club looking for a leader of men to bring some confidance back to the club! Evolution not Revolution!

Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted October 10, 2006 Of course this Board are the problem. Can you not see how the Board and it''s members have changed over time, can you not see how they compromised the Club over their friendship with the team manager.Yes, they are good people, excellent people infact, but that isn''t enough and as was excellently pointed out by FMF on my last thread a virtue taken to extreems can become a fault. There is no reason why the board cannot learn from what has happened and improve. Perhaps they have, perhaps they will make a superb job of this selection of a new team manager, get it spot on and in doing so fulfil their responsibility as custodians of the club. Our Board were the perfect solution to chase. They had success, this has waned and now they need to renew things, despite themselves.Incidentally, this board were so wedded to Worthington i would not be surprised to see them do a Blair mandleson project and bring him back in an backroom capacity once the dust has settled.
