Work Ethic

Recommended Posts

"Today summed up what is required at this level - a high work ethic, a never-say-die attitude, great energy, good competing and a strong desire to keep the lead that we had and to try and add to it."  Nigel Worthington after the Cardiff game.

He just doesn''t get it does he. Somehow I can see Andy Hughes Mk II and Mk III joining us in the Summer.

[/quote] Worthington never mentions the words talent, ability or skill! Somehow I think that is quite important too - look where it got Reading!

actually, worthington is quite right in saying that these are the most essential things for getting promotion. countless sides have shown this to be the case in the past, and it it what has been lacking this season more than anything. of course, talent and skill are essential too, but stick to slagging off worthy for what he says, not for what he doesn''t say.

Did anyone see that cookery programme on Beeb 2 around tea time last night?   Galston Blackiston  (sp?) was walking around the changing room being a city fan - and the vast majority of the affirmations were around hard work, work ethic, committment etc.

Do we sign or are players so naturally lazy that we have to focus entirely on getting their backsides in gear each game?   Some focus on quality and tactics wouldnt go amiss!

At least there wasnt a Hoof It Long poster[:D]
