RugbyCanary 106 Posted August 31 Out of the new ins , who do we think will have biggest impact? Personally, I think schwartu will be our crown jewel for a couple of years. Big, good touch. Slimani maybe the Kenny upgrade we've wished for too.......
Dean Coneys boots 1,531 Posted August 31 Oscar’s stats are already impressive - he’s quality. think he’s going to be amazing forson looks a little lightweight but has shown glimpses- needs to bulk up. slimani looked a decent addition. doyle is prem quality and we are lucky to have him cordoba needs time - still raw but a total unit christene is playing like he’s much older than 20 -solid at this level crnac worries me- doesn’t yet look like an £8m striker - but then he’s being played on the wing. debbie does norwich 24 Posted August 31 On what we've seen so far, I do agree. They both could turn out to be gems. I hope we have an option to buy Slimane. I'VE seen less of Cordoba but not unhappy with both the left sided centre backs. I'm prepared to wait for the rest to prove themselves. I know he's not exactly new but also a mention for Onel. He's been outstanding so far.
Ulfotto 798 Posted August 31 Doyle looks a class act. He is sort of a combination of Duffy and Gibson. My main bugbear with loan players is often they are not much of an upgrade on what we already have. Doyle is the complete opposite he is miles better than any centre back we have had for years. Google Bot 3,927 Posted August 31 (edited) Barring Doyle who's the obvious, but also not one of our own - I think Forson will be the standout once he's adapted fully to the game over here. Sure he's lightweight but Sainz ain't exactly the hulk and Wes never was, and Nunez the same yet he was controlling the game quite a bit today. Forson has the vision and a step up in skill, it's just about learning how far to push it, establishing links with team-mates and most importantly knowing when to let the ball go, and move. I've said elsewhere he is an absolute beast of a player. Not quite sure about your rating of him but can easily see that becoming the case. Klose was quality when he was fit (unfortunately that was not very often) whilst Bassong was often hugely underrated. On his day he had the same immense physical stature of Doyle and a great left foot. Trouble was he was unpredictable as hell and often gifted possession away for seemingly no good reason. Doyle's simple but perceptive passing out of defence particularly in the second half when he seemed to have recovered from what looked a nasty injury earlier in the game, was hugely impressive. On one such occasion when he foiled one of their attacks and played the ball upfield to a huge cheer from the Yarmy behind him, he turned round and gave a quick grin to his new disciples. He was clearly loving the battle! In some respects he reminds me of a certain K Beattie who was idolised by some folk in East Anglia for similar attributes. If he can reach those heights and stay injury free he will be one hell of a player.

The critical error in Bassong was that for every 9 positive actions there was reliably 1 horrendous error that would randomly come into play. If not for that we'd never have had him here. As for the topic at hand, Doyle is obviously a huge asset for us. I think him and Duffy complement each other really well- down to Cordoba now to force his way in.
