Ulfotto 798 Posted May 7 Makes you think can we get rid of the hotel and fill in between the Jarrold and the Barclay rather than ramping another tier on the city stand.

Why does it? Adding a tier to the City Stand would be far more seats. Imo we don’t really need a ground that holds much more than 30-31k.

We comfortably pulled in better numbers than Brighton and Leicester in the Championship. Edited May 7 by Midlands Yellow 2

Filling in the gap would add 1500 seats maybe. Taking us up towards 28k something we could easily sell out good times and bad. It would be cheaper and less disruptive than a new tier on the city stand which in my opinion would be too many if we had a sustained period outside the premier league. Plus in my opinion the hotel is an eyesore and looks more and more like a misstep each season. looking at the OP link again Boro 26905? Every time I seen them on the highlights show it looks half empty.

All for the sake of 1500 seats? Doesn't really matter as we can't afford to do anything and those averages suggest it isn't really worth it anyway.
BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted May 8 (edited) In the meantime, those down the road now talk of stadium expansion to more than 40, 000 based upon their current and hopefully brief period in the sun. Some contrast to those fearful of Norwich City F. C. struggling to attract 30, 000. Which ever way you look at it, demand has out-stripped capacity for years now at Carrow Road. We even attracted crowds of 24, 500 average to watch league one sides playing on our ground for a whole season. I never go in for this big club/little club, bigger club, smaller club talk as there are far too many anomalies. Suffice to say is that we know who the really big clubs are and should be aware of the so-called sleeping giants. With regards Norwich and Ipswich, we are both medium-sized clubs, roughly similar in many ways and with a cyclical dominance called the East Anglia rivalry. If anything, though, we do have the slight edge as we are a bigger City deemed the capital and centre of East Anglia and have a larger catchment area. Also, our recent history of gaining Premier League status, no matter how brief it has usually been, probably makes the club more well known throughout the footballing world, despite their support having need to continually remind all and sundry about their glorious history of over forty years ago. There are probably a few other reasons that can be cited, but it gets petty, whilst the supporters of ITFC are no real yardstick in any case. We all remember the note waving incident. That they should talk of ground expansion in such a way based solely upon recent successes, whilst some of us stall at even improving a dated and quite frankly embarrassing main stand, is galling to say the least.
