Leeds new S/T to have min usage restrictions

If my understanding is correct, the problem with the Norwich buyback scheme is they only put seats on sale once the ground has sold out (maybe not the restricted view seats).  We live 3 hours away and with a young family made the decision to skip Sunderland and we'll be going to the Rotherham match this weekend.  We put two of our four season tickets on buyback for Sunderland (family had the other two), but they never appear on sale, despite being a fairly desirable pair together.

Really good point.

Ultimately I think what Leeds are going to be doing, what Brentford are already doing, is fantastic.

If it's implemented well there is no downside, I'm not sure why people are claiming they'll not be able to have season tickets? As long as there's a straight-forward way to ensure the club is able to re-sell the tickets in advance of the game, then it's win win surely?

Indeed there is the problem. Another factor is how many fans the opposition bring. When away accommodation is freed up then there is scope for seats together and good quality seats at that as perhaps Rotherham is proving. Clearly when larger away support turns up. like Sunderland,  there isn't yet the Club doesn't effectively operate the buy back scheme because it wants to sell the dregs. Midweek games you can't give them away, the  Club doesn't remotely reach it's claimed 98% so prices need to be lower

The single ones or restricted view that nobody wants at the prices on offer.

So are you know contradicting what you’ve said on previous threads. There are high levels of demand for home games in general. Norwich do not currently need to copy Brentford and Leeds and alienate some season ticket holders, so why would they choose to do so, people are free to put tickets on buy back if they wish and the club will resell them for high demand games( I am fairly surprised that they didn’t for Sunderland). They are not going to suddenly offer really cheap prices midweek for tickets that have already been sold to season ticket holders, partly because they don’t want to undercut the season ticket advantage.

As usual Gollum wants it both ways.

There's an easy way round it. If you can't go to 80% of the games, give the ST to a mate and all he has to do is go in on his/her ticket, then go out and come in again with yours.  Would only have to be done a few times until 80% is ensured.

I'm not sure this would be an 'easy' way around it! Quite a faff more for the mate!

You maybe surprised they didn't for Sunderland but many people are not so surprised as we know they put scraping the short-term  monetary barrel ahead of serving supporters. If their 'demand and supply' claim was justified in relation to midweek matches they could give a pro-rata season ticket opt out for such matches and sell more tickets at higher casual prices plus higher commercial take for overall financial benefit. Given we know that isn't true they would perhaps benefit from surrendering any financial gain for a fuller ground. A season ticket advantage would still very likely be retained. Even if further adjustment was required a full ground should be the priority for anyone who believes the crowd is the 12th. man. Then again the spreadsheet can't cope with the 12th. man logic.

To be fair our fans have been more of a 10th man for majority of this season.

You can understand why with 20000 people sitting on the ST waiting list.

Where were they in League 1 ?
They had an average attendance back then fractionally above ours even though their ground could (I think) hold another 10k or so.

Shouldnt that be a 10th person in these "modern" times?

Indeed. So the group think challenger says if 20% ST's don't turn up for a match, how many empty seats do we have and what image has it created? Could we do better?
