The lad in the academy who's just signed a deal, Myles Elliot who was in demand,  supposedly Chelsea wanted him etc. I'd rather see him on the bench than Placheta. But we won't.

The sooner binners Farke off the better for us all

This binner doesn't even know the lad's real name - you don't need to look too far to see where the whiners on here hail from. Any whine about City, up they pop

Seriously mate - you haven't got a clue what you're talking about. Wagner has given a debut to three youth team players since he's been here. Abu Kamara, Jaden Warner and Kellen Fisher.

And I'll make it really clear for you - the young player who recently signed his first professional contract with us is called Elliot Myles not  Myles Elliot as you incorrectly called him.

Fisher wasn’t from our academy though so he can’t really be included surely?

Think he was initially signed for the U21s but pre-season convinced Wagner to sell Mumba and favour him. Borderline case, certainly.

Either way, Fisher's still a sign that Wagner was willing to let youth have a go here and there.

All the noise for Fisher's signing was that he was for the u23s. Every summer they give the academy first team exposure and those that excel tend to get fast tracked or loaned out. Fisher to his credit took his chance and Wagner gave him a go. So despite his flaws I think Wagner does deserve credit for him making his debut.

This summer could actually be quite exciting to see who wins the battle for spots at CB from Tomkinson, Warner, Hills and Adegboyega. Plus returning Kamara to do battle with the likes of the high rated Myles and Welch. Going to be a lot of squad turnover this summer though and I hope some of the youngsters get a chance which might be to the detriment of new signings to replace the out of contract ones. Wonder what people complaining about pathways from the academy would think of that. If say we gave Djedje a chance at CDM instead of a new signing?

As for the Aboh situation it happens, it is the symptom of having two young first team strikers in Idah (22) and Sargent (23) who are both still young in striking terms with their peaks around 28-30 so there wont be a pathway for him unless one of them leaves really. Barnes is a short term plug but if Aboh wont sign a new contract and go on loan staying would leave him as third choice potentially and in the exact same position people criticise Idah's development for. Not easy to balance.

If we miss promotion this season, we'll definitely test the academy lads next season.

Unless Attanasio and crew underwrite a massive turnover of Championship promotion ready players. Doubtful as that would go against his MO at the Brewers.

Tucked away on the Jonathan Varane thread it suggests that Aboh might well be off.

With Kamara likely to return as 4th choice for next season it does seem Aboh might well choose elsewhere.
