Interesting little article from the Pink'Un, seems we are going for a 'quality over quantity' approach, which given Covid and our lack of funds in the first place does make sense.

I mean, the subs bench drops now from 5 of 9 to 3 of 9 so we will need to reduce squad numbers which is already slightly above the norm. Farke has stated that he prefers smallar squads to work with. We've let 3 players go already. Within the next couple of weeks you would expect to see a bunch of academy players released. You have to also suggest that Generation 1 of Farkelife may be moved on also... players like Heise, Leitner, Trybull and Drmic a given, but perhaps also those who haven't quite been able to step up, especially now in the Prem... Hernandez, Steipermann. Further to that, you'd expect one of the three diamonds to be sold (Aarons most likely)... so straight away... we have a significantly reduced squad... then... we just need maybe 2 or 3 players to come in... so it makes sense to bring in high quality. Perhaps players to go straight into the first 11 as a spine. Defender, Midfielder, Striker. Skipp is the highest priority plus a defender who can play across the back line and perhaps a support striker. Perhaps a big money signing (10m ish) and two high profile loans? It's going to be really interesting.

Hopefully it works out. We tried this approach under McNally in the 2015 summer window and none of our targets wanted to join us so we finished the window with a few panic buys and loans. I'm betting it works this time as Webber will know whether players are actually seriously interested before trying to do deals.
