We absolutely, totally, utterly must not sell key players in January

It generally just doesn't happen- when you're close to promotion you can generally keep players happy for 6 months, especially if you promise to sell them in the summer if it goes to ****.

Arsenal is an interesting one but say someone like Palace or Brighton came in for one of our players- would there be much point in making the switch and possibly not settling when you could be in the same division in 6 months?

It's also pretty rare a player of Emi's or Max's quality is in the championship though. It's also pretty rare that they weren't already sold in the summer, despite significant interest from big clubs.

Sarr at Watford and Brooks at Bournemouth are equivalent players. It will be interesting to see if those clubs are willing to sell if they receive bids for them.

Imagine if they held onto those players, we sold Buendia and then missed out on promotion to those 2...

Arsenal if they want Emi will be signing another loose cannon and they have one already in Zhaka will they want to risk it.  And although we all adore Emi his PL performance was not scintillating maybe not suited to PL.  I wouldn't get too worried about proposed move Arsenal or one of the PL lower lights who would not be able to afford the £40m fee required to buy Emi.

Its not out of our hands though is it. We do not have to accept any offer. Arsenal are desperate. If they offer something ludicrous like £70m then so be it but promotion is worth more to the club than £30m or £40m.

Look at the young players we've attracted in recent years. Top rated youngsters such as Mumba come because we have great facilities, great coaching, great management, a calm environment to live in and we allow players to move on if a huge bid comes in from a top club. What do you think our current (and prospective) young players would think if we literally told Emi and Todd that they can't leave at any price? It's not a good look and not good for our reputation.

I think we're in a very strong position to keep everyone. I think interested parties would be rolling their eyes right now thinking "Norwich are top, which adds £7-8m to the price of any player we want to sign". As an aside, we've gone on this fantastic run without Cantwell. Emi of course is a different kettle of fish.

Pretty sure Emi with his tantrums, flopping to the floor antics as well as his habbit of always trying to get in the refs ear he would not really last five minutes with VAR and the stricter Prem refs

Personally,I'd be more worried about losing our Head Coach than any individual players .........
