keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted September 28, 2020 EPL to vote tomorrow as to what will happen should the fixtures not be able to be fulfilled. Season will be null and void unless two thirds or three quarters of the fixtures completed. One or the other. With three games gone, for the season to be called off after 26 games might make some clubs a bit twitchy. Of course no club could complain after voting. Takes the legal system out of it. And who is to say Covid will get worse?
Aggy 755 Posted September 28, 2020 Well, it should take the legal system out of it, but it does rather beg the question why they didn’t take such a vote before the season started.  If you’ve played three league and a couple of cup games and done well (or been absolutely pants or picked up a few injuries, or found out your new signings are all naff) possible likelihood you’ll vote differently than you would have done before start of the season.
KiwiScot 1,443 Posted September 29, 2020 One thing still to realise is the long term health effects on people who contract it, but have no life threating effects from it, but develop ongoing issues as a result In footballing terms. It could get worse.

Funny how all these clubs who last season said it would be completely unfair not to finish having played so many games will now vote for this.
Jim Smith 2,319 Posted September 29, 2020 Surely the EFL have to be consulted on it and agree to it if there is going to be null and void with no relegation or promotion. Or at least thats what we were told last season.

And who is to say Covid will get worse? Not sure it does take the legal system out of the equation because this is a decision that should have been made before the season started. Not least because it potentially affects the EFL as well. There was plenty of time to poll all clubs in the EPL and to consut the EFL. Just seen that Aggy has made the same point.
