king canary 7,606 Posted January 25, 2017 @Hoegsar That just isn''t true though is it? I don''t think Bennett made Martin play a blind back pass v Liverpool. I also don''t think Bennett forced Bassong to let Defoe rob him v Sunderland. But yeah it''s all his fault.
hogesar 9,673 Posted January 25, 2017 I didn''t say they all were. But Bennett is so painfully limited he tends to make his partner worse rather than better.
king canary 7,606 Posted January 25, 2017 Yeah he''s limited. But I think he knows his own limitations, unlike Bassong who seems to occasionally think he''s the next Franco Baresi. Martin is better than Bennett but Bennett is a serviceable backup. To claim his defensive partners mistakes stem from covering for Bennett is ridiculous - Martin and Bassong make plenty of mistakes when he isn''t on the pitch. GJP 79 Posted January 25, 2017 They''ve all got a mistake in them.
king canary 7,606 Posted January 25, 2017 Yes they do. But the stats show that Bassong and Martin make more big mistakes - ones that lead directly to chances and goals.
GJP 79 Posted January 25, 2017 Perhaps. But they both take more responsibility in their approach to the game.
