We won't sign anyone

Recommended Posts

Didn''t I read somewhere Turner has torn his groin muscle and is out for the season - so won''t be going anywhere. And wasn''t his contract extension was triggered by our promotion at Wembley?

But yes, so many fringe players on big wages with no one wanting them - add Lafferty, Bassong, Jarvis, Mulumbu. Are all 5 out of contract this summer?

Unfortunately Javis isn''t. What a great signing he has turned out to be. We signed him so we could get Bamford on loan. Crikey if we wouldve made some decent loans signings last year instead of Wisdom, Jarvis & Bamford we wouldve gave ourselves a much better chance. You only have to look at sides like Bournemouth Loaning Wilshere & Boro Loaning Chambers.

Ruddy Whittaker Bennett Bassong Turner Mulumbu Lafferty are out of contract

The narrative at the AGM was that of cash outflows. In such circumstances, it seems likely that Olsson''s sale simply plugs a gap. Thus, for anyone to come in I suspect a Bradyesc fee will need to go out and, even then, not all of that will be spent. Retrenchment is the order of the day.
Tettey, oh christ get him moved on. Needs shipping out with the rest of the dead wood.
The problem with just moving players out when you are neither able to acquire or attract an upgrade replacement is the team ends up weaker. Attempts to sign a left back are a case in point.

There are other areas that need to be addressed more urgently and should have first call on our limited financial resources.

Ive been saying since the window started we would likely sign no one. Alex and the City recruiting staff simply have not wisened up to facts. The writing was already on the wall to see when that forward Haller got as far as Colney, quickly looked around then turned away. So why are we persisting, looking at guys that are predominantly Dutch, or coming from clubs such as Sporting Lisbon and Ajax...to a struggling mid table Champs side with a training ground thats looks frankly...20 yrs past its sell by date, no matter that some pitches are ok ish.Delia and the board may have put their faith in Alex, but the clubs entire staff, Board and the rest, need to very quickly realise, in the space of 12 to 18 months our situation and outlook has shifted dramatically. Luckily we have 40 points, so we will plod on ungainly to May, at which time the summer period from June until end of August transfer window will be a huge time of  upheaval...i foresaw this  coming as early as Jan. 16, i warned then that Summer 17 would be a critical timeAlex...City...wisen up..stop looking abroad..we are a struggling mid table at best Champs side with ropey training ground,,attract players from the lower leagues here..you havent the time to mess around in Europe, even  improved wages for Euro  guys is not enough now. As for the LB saga...sending Toffolo out on loan to Scunny now looks a very silly move indeed.
