  1. I think achieving 10 more points would keep us up. Beating Stoke, Sunderland and WBA at home and achieving one draw away from home. Not too much to ask, surely? I all honesty, I can''t see us achieving 10 more points. I think we will draw or lose today. Sunderland could spring a surprise. The only home game I can see us winning is WBA.
  2. Still plenty of games left, Morty. You say judge Hughton at the end, so maybe you should adopt the same attitude towards WBA and Sunderland. Wait until 38 games have passed. Hughton should''ve gone after West Ham, shocked he stayed. I''m hoping you''re right about not dropping but those last 4 games could be four defeats and that wouldn''t be good for our survival in this league. Obviously.
  3. I don''t think we can say we are better than WBA or Sunderland. Think that''s arrogant and without foundation.
  4. It''s not foolish to set a target, you have to set targets, it''s just better to keep them private. That was my point. After Villa beat us at home last season I''d say we were pretty relegation threatened. We had to rely on Swansea beating Wigan to ease a lot of pressure. Think you have a short memory, me old fruit. It was looking nasty at certain points. Easy to act relaxed about it now but we looked poor and close to the trap door. My logic is our inconsistent form, our faltering manager and his terrible decision making at times. We are more likely to drop than get 10th. That''s for sure. I know sacking your manager doesn''t guarantee improvement. As if we need you to tell us that. Keeping a failing manager doesn''t guarantee improvement either.
  5. Morty, I think it was foolish of the board to state they wanted 10th place finish. I think it was also foolish for them to state they just wanted to stay up. Looks silly and unlike our board. Like Lambert always said, as soon as you publicly state a target and you start not meeting that target, your heads on the block. Your 3 points of 10th is fact. Can''t argue with it. It''s a bit like the 11th finish syndrome though isn''t it. Yes, it''s fact, but the reality is we are more likely to drop down a league than finish 10th. That''s what I think anyway. Just like we were two games off relegation last season, then fortunately found two unlikely results to paper over the cracks. The very same cracks that may open up again just in time for April/May run in, if they haven''t opened up already. I''m so surprised Hughton is still our manager. So many times he could (and should) have gone this season, but I think we lacked the guts to do it. I think McNally has been too proud to admit he was wrong with Hughton. Whatever happens, I think CH will be sacked in the summer. I''m hoping earlier but that looks unlikely.
  6. It''s just not good enough and that''s quite obvious, isn''t it? The board stated they wanted a top 10 finish but quickly adjusted that to just wanting us to remain in this league, so I''m guessing they now would take 17th. That''s quite the drop. May I ask Morty and the like, why have our own board dropped expectations by quite a way, if we are doing so well?
  7. I firmly believe he''s gone in the summer, whatever happens. He should''ve been sacked months ago. Winning the odd game, then not winning for the next 10/11 games isn''t good enough whether we''re 3 points off 10th or not.
  8. It''s comedy that he''s even still our manager after all these constant failures on the pitch. I bet even he''s shocked to still be there. Have the guts to take a risk and sack the bloke. He''s a nice person but a downgrade on our previous manager. I''d like Neil Lennon to come in. Nobody really knows if he''d come or not, but that''s who I think would be a good option. Get rid of Hughton and let''s try to actually show some guts. It''s not working. It''s one step forward then many steps back all the time. Get rid. Poor manager.
  9. @ Morty We were great last week, abysmal for much of this week. Simple as that. Not sure what point you''re trying to make.
  10. Just wondering what people think about David McNally perhaps taking care of his own reputation by not sacking Hughton. There''s been plenty of opportunities to sack Chris, but we have seemed to lack the nerve to do so at many times throughout this season. Chris could''ve been sacked as early as October, yet we have continued to lack the nerve to do so even though many fans could see he wasn''t good enough. McNally''s reputation has risen a great deal since coming to Norwich. No blots on his copy book - until now. I think he doesn''t want to admit he''s wrong by sacking Hughton, so would rather stick with his man, even though that means we could drop out of this league (which I think we will do) along with Cardiff and Fulham. Could be wrong but I think he''s very careful to protect his own interests.
  11. Ideal fixture - yes. However, my prediction is a defeat.
  12. Real fan - Morty. Knows more than the rest. Attends the odd away game and makes sure everyone knows about it. Often comments that other fans aren''t real fans. This clearly makes him the best example of a real NCFC fan. In my opinion, of course.
  13. I think RvW will score. I think we will start of quickly, like Liverpool did against Arsenal. We will race into a quick 2-0 lead. Yes, they might get a goal back and it might be edgy at times, but we will score again and again. My prediction for tomorrow night is West Ham 1-4 Norwich. Seriously. I can almost feel it. It''s time the players went out there and made it happen!
  14. We could well turn City over. Really turn the form book on it''s head. Make everyone stand up and take notice. Make our relegation rivals quiver with fear. My prediction: Norwich 0-4 Man City
  15. I agree with a lot of what he says to say about us. I''d rather pat him on the back for spotting quite early in Hughton''s reign, what we would become.
  16. I think Hughton would have to leave the club. Many players would leave. We''d be in a mess. The Lambert years would largely be wasted. The silly thing is, it''s very likely this could happen. If only the board had seen earlier what many fans have been seeing for 12-14 months.
  17. If we lose by 3 or more then he has to go. I''m starting to think Hughton was given an 8 year contract so we can''t afford to sack him.
  18. I think your hypothesis would''ve been correct had Swansea not sacked Michael Laudrup this week. That''s not me saying we would sack CH and appoint ML. I don''t think we would. I just think it might make the Norwich board realise that if Swansea are sacking their manager, a manager who guided them to a cup win, achieved some success in Europe, done ok in the league, then surely we must consider that our manager isn''t pulling up any trees, and hasn''t been for the past 12-14 months. A defeat to Man City and a slide into the bottom 3 would see CH gone IMO, and rightly so too. He should''ve gone when we lost 7-0 to City earlier this season. Many fans couldn''t see things getting better and they haven''t. Chris Hughton is a very lucky man. Firstly, to still be manager of our football club and secondly, to even be managing in the Premier League. Neil Lennon for me.
  19. A decent performance and a 2-0 defeat would probably be enough to convince everyone Hughton is the right man. However, any defeat should see Hughton sacked. It really is now time that happened.
  20. Yes, this is another Chris Hughton thread. I make no apologies. I am completely stunned that this man still has a job. I''m not a complainer, I like to give people a chance, but this is getting silly now. Like most Norwich fans, staying in the Premier League after Lambert left was vital. Hughton achieved it (just about), and we have to praise him for that. 11th was a fortunate position to end up in after being two games away from what looked like a likely relegation. Ok, we haven''t been in the bottom 3 since later last year. However, that could well change after Saturday''s game. Defeats like the one last Saturday away to Cardiff are the type of game that relegates a club. I have no faith in Chris Hughton guiding us clear of the relegation zone. We will not get to the magic 40 point mark this season either. I''m stunned that someone of McNally''s ilk thinks this is good enough. Maybe he''s lost his way too. There are managerial options out there, we just have to go and get them. I''d have Neil Lennon in a heartbeat. Get some passion back, some belief. Hughton needs to leave and needs to leave now. I have no faith in the man or the two failed managers by his side.
  21. On the one hand I don''t blame him. He rarely plays and is one of our best players. On the other hand I think, if you don''t plan on staying for the length of your contract, don''t sign it.
  22. Playtime finishes in 15 minutes, mate. Don''t be late back in class.
  23. Yeah I do. He deserved a chance, but has suffered football wise as a result of being a complete panic buy by Chris Hughton and the board. If you don''t believe that - have a read of Neil Warnock''s book. He gives a very detailed account of that deal.
