1. West Brom local reporter.Steve Madeley ‏@smadeley_star 10m There might have been an enquiry, but it doesn''t sound like it''s happening. #wba   Steve Madeley ‏@smadeley_star 10m Just had a conversation which makes me very dubious about the Hoolahan rumours. #wba Maybe we are trying to get another bid out of Villa?
 2. I don''t see where Norwich win in this? Send a player on loan, or get £1m-£2m for him? Also loaning to a club closer to us in the league. Think this is quite childish to be honest.
 3.
4th bid from an unnamed club... Hahah suck it villa!
Bit amateurish if we sell for sell to another club though as some reports on Twitter are suggesting.
 4. Transfer News/Rumour ‏@ITK_TRANSFER 29s Norwich have accepted a bid for Wes Hoolahan from a premier league club but not Aston Villa. Fee is believed to be lower than Villa bid Likely bullshite!
 5. Would be ridiculous if we sold Hoolahan to another premier league club for less than or same as the third and final offer that Villa made last night. Would be leaving it late to replace. All because McNally doesn''t like Lambert.
 6. Surely directed more at the people running the club. Don''t think he''d deliberately disrespect the fans as has a good relationship with.
 7.
Personally could not care less if it is Villa, if they meet our valuation I have no issue with us selling Wes to them. My point remains that no amount of dummy spitting should alter the fact Wes goes on our terms and not his or his agents.......
Thats fair enough yeah, wonder what our valuation is. Guardian tonight saying Villa have made a second bid in last 24 hours which was rejected, after a first bid of £1 million.
 8.
Not sure why posters think the club should cave in to Wes just because he has spat his dummy out. Wes is contracted to Norwich City who have a valuation for him......
Been a great servant to the club for years, hardly kicking a ball and had gone through the right methods to try and leave the club for one last move. Clearly has no future here. It''s only because it is Villa that there is such a fuss in my opinion.
 9. Cannot see him staying tomorrow, especially after what has been done and said. Reports in Birmingham seem to suggest Villa will try and push it through tomorrow. May as well cash in now, can''t see a better fee from anyone coming in the summer if he''s not playing and at his age. Villa would likely move onto long term player targets in summer window.
 10. Most the nationals and local Birmingham Mail (which is usually spot on) are reporting transfer requests and £1.5m, not £750k.
 11.

The league position after 5 games is meaningless
Harry Redknapp, October 2012
He took over QPR at the end of November...
 12.
Find it strange how some think Lambert would have done a better job.   He inherited a squad at Villa which cost just short of 200m, spent a further 30m and still finished below us. Yet he would have done a better job than Hughton? Despite NOT doing a better job than Hughton in a team with higher value?   Makes sense.....
And how many of those expensive original players did he play at Villa? They were all in the reserves or the bench as it''s clear they wanted to reshape the squad from top to bottom. On the side note, I wonder if we would have Benteke if Lambo stayed?
 13. It''s a blow, but think Lambert could do a lot with £25/£30million that would make Villa an overall better team.
 14.
Who says he''s gonna be their #2? If he is, then he''ll be in for a new contract. Next thing you know ol'' Jed''s a millionaire. HAH! Did we ever come up with a song for him? In retrospect, maybe something based on a Tears for Steers, like Shout.
Says this on Villa''s official site
He will also add Norwich City goalkeeper Jed Steer, 20, who becomes a free agent on July 1, to a firmament of four including Brad Guzan, Shay Given and Benji Siegrist."Bringing in Jed will also add to the goalkeeping department and helps with everyone pushing one another, learning from one another and making everyone better and wanting to improve.  "You want competition for places throughout the team, which is something we didn''t have last season."
Presuming Shay is off, then Jef will be second choice at Villa along with their other young keeper Siegrist.
 15. Theres no if about it, quotes from Lambo on Villa''s official site.
 16.
Talk sport reporting we are making an "audacious" swoop for the Belgiun international currently at Porto. Asking price of £9mill www.caughtoffside.com/.../norwich-city-plot-audacious-swoop-for-port. I know it is from last month but is this the sort of player people would be happy with us signing.
I remember him being constantly linked with Man United a few years ago, but nothing ever came about it. Apparantly had a surge in form this past season. Be a great signing, though Porto are famous for wacking huge release clauses on players.
 17. I think that paper have got our keepers mixed up. Heard Villa were after Jed Steer as backup when Given goes. No reason to sign Ruddy, Guzan won their player of the season last year and seemed to be constantly praised by Lambo. Ruddy wouldn''t go anywhere to be 2nd choice, let alone Villa and it would also go against Villa''s buy young and cheap policy.
 18. 1-1 & Wigan lose to West Brom, then I think everyone will be happy.
 19.

City 4-1 down at half time, with the crowd all nodding their heads in the knowledge of I told you so........storming response in the second half with a Holty hatrick finally drawing the game 4-4.   This has a draw all over it, I said it, Lawro said it, we have only been beaten at home by 3 top teams, we are 10th in home form, Villa are 10th in away form, both managers would take a point at this stage.............2-2 draw.
lol - a holty hat trick is as logical as the doom monger wanting a 1-3 away win. 2013 stats are Us home P7 W2 D5 L0 F7 A5 11pts +2GD Villa away P7 W2 D3 L2 F13 A14 9pts -1GD Will be a close game and more than likely a draw. But our home form IS good, even if the displays have not been impressive
Most likely result looks like a draw then, though football is a funny old game sometimes. Villa''s result Monday proved that. With Villa''s only away losses in 2013 being at Arsenal & Man Utd, I think they tend to play more free away from home. There 1-3 performance at Stoke was dominant. No doubt, this is going to be tough game, but for Villa as well.
 20.

Villa beat liverpool 3-1 at anfield, played exceptionally well and everyone was saying they had turned the corner and creamed their pants. The following three games they lost 8-0, 4-0 and 3-0. They are a team capable of playing very well, but are also capable of utter rubbish as well. Thats why yet again this season they go into the final games with brown pants. Get a grip people.
I think this Villa team has improved a lot since then. Since the Xmas fixtures they have only lost twice on the road in the league. One was a late goal loss vs Arsenal, the other when United won the league.  It''s going to be tough!
But in response to that Stat we have only lost 3 times at home this seasonI honestly think that this result in a bizzare way might play into our hands a little bit, it will certainly get our boys fired up knowing that this game has got even more significant, but more importantly it could have a negative impact on Villa. There is such a thing as over confidence and they will fancy themselves to come here and turn us over, but this could result in a much more open game with villa pressing forward. Ive always felt that we play better against teams that come to carrow road and look for a game, its one of the reasons I think we seem to be able to get results against Swansea. One thing we cant do is show them any respect, we have to take the game to them and be prepeared to counter hard and fast.
It could be. I honestly think the most likely result will be a draw and I don''t think that result will be that bad for both teams, but obviously still risky if Wigan go on a run. I think we could get a point at the baggies too, who won''t have anything really to play for.
 21.
I''d much rather face an Aston Villa side after they had a convincing win rather than been on the wrong side of a 6 - 1.   If Villa had come into the game against Norwich desperately needing a win I would back them to do so, say what you like about Lambert he generally makes sure his team get the vital, high pressure wins.   The only time Villa have won two games back to back was when they face Reading and then QPR. I reckon it will be a score draw this weekend and both teams start to breath a little easier.
Why? Last time they got spanked, they lost 4-0 to Spurs, 3-0 to Wigan and 3-1 to Bradford. Villa have been in good form ever since.

 23. Was always going to be Villa. Decent home draw, good chance to get a semi-final.
 24.

Simple mind games.I firmly believe he''s trying to get under our skin. Why let it?
Didn''t seem to fluster Hughton too much he was very cool and pragamatic about Lambert in the pre-match interview. It''s a breath of fresh air having a manager who can actually communicate to the fans rather than being grumpy, defensive, and often rude to journalists (admittedly their questions are often tedious and badly timed).
Yeah because that is essentially what you need for a football club manager, I mean those back to back promotions from obscurity and 12th place finish are just a nice bit on the side... We''ll see what Hughton can do over time, great result against Arsenal, but if we lose to Villa and don''t perform great the doom mongers will be back out.
