1. If Norwich have breached a condition of Lamberts contract, then Lambert can, and appears to have, repudiated the agreement.
2. I wouldn''t read anything into the final game. We had been poor all season but nobody could quite believe how half arsed it all was. Two days later the manager was sacked and I would guess that was no surprise to the players.
3. Both will struggle. Whether they will go down is another matter, but the momentum has definitely been lost.
4. So we will spend 35 million and run out of steam in October? You need to read the nonsense you''re coming out with.
5.
Tin pot club, with tin pot support, yes they have a history, but there are many clubs that have, people, lets concentrate on us!
I can taste the lemons in this post.
6.
33k is only 6k more than we get.....and we would have had more than that if we had the stadium.......which we will in a couple of years time
You''re comparing our lowest ebb in 25 years with what you might do, maybe, in a few years time? Ok. As for the other post, if you think we''ll finish 17th then put money on it. We both know who will be closer to the drop.
7. Best Villa manager in decades? O''Neill? Really? Nope. Atkinson competed for the title and won a trophy. Little finished 4th and 5th and won a trophy. O''Neill was like Gregory. Finished sixth alot and spent alot but won nowt. I liked both mind. And yes we clicked our fingers and Bent came running.
8. Its actually 16 years since we won a trophy, but you''re right, that is too long. I am sure Lambert will rectify that. I would love us to win the FA Cup. I have seens us win the League Cup a few times, the title and of course the European Cup, but ner The Cup.
9. I would imagine the rise in unemployment in the city since 2008 has had a bit of an affect. There''s no doubt some stayed away last season. But as chronic as it was, we averaged over 33k which is only a few thousand short of what it has been for ten years. We averaged less when we won the title.
10. We averaged over 33k. What of it? Don''t try and come over all Geordie. The idea that any one set of fans is more loyal than another is nonsense.
11. Lake District, I think we will love a manager that uses his squad! Looking at yours it seems a big mixture of youth and players who did it at lower levels. The fact he got you to where you did, with style and a belief that you could go anywhere and beat anybody is a testament to his ability.
12. Martinez and OGS cannot turn dow what hasn''t been offered. The pull of the Villa is huge. We looked at Sunderlands best player and he came sprinting to us. Lambert wanted to come so badly he resigned.
13.
''Norwich v Villa'' - the new ''Norwich v Ipswich'' !
No as a rivalry needs to be a two way street.
14. We hold the record for attendances in the third division. Against Bournemouth if my memory serves me. A tad more than 25k packed into Villa Park that day.
15. Don''t have loyal fans? Where do you get your nonsense from? I can understand you being upset but park the bitterness please.
16. Some other facts are the 200 million invested over six years, 30 million of which was spent in the January proceeding last summer. The wage issue was catastrophic. Our turn over has gone up and up, but then so did the wages to turnover ratio. A lot of that has been corrected. With Beye, L Young, A Young, Downing, Heskey and Carlos going that has freed up the best part of 300k a week. There was a lot of naivety from Lerner with the trust placed in MON and the contracts handed out. A more level headed age has now been welcomed.
17. I would imagine that Lambert will have been told by Faulkner and Lerner what his budget is rather than picking up the Sun. There are a lot of noises that it will be an MON level of spending this summer, so for a paper who has just called something correct they can follow it up with anything and attach credability to it. As for the game, I said at the time that the players knew he was a gonner. It was less than half arsed.
18. Yes by a few hundred. The vast majority swallowed the worst football since 1987 before finally expressing their feelings. Given that we had seen our last win of the season by that point, 7 in total and only 4 at home, then that to me states patience.
19. Fact you say? Well fair enough if you know best. We''ll see in September I guess.
20. And cut the fickle jibes as its total nonsense.
21. Bent did not get injured until late March, which is when injuries kicked in. I cannot see how he can be excused the cowardly, awful, negative approach when he had full pick up to that point. The man was an abomination. It had nothing to do where he came from and everything to do with where he was taking us.
22. There will be a lot of players leaving the Villa, thank God, and Bent wont be one of them. I fully expect Lambert to get a lot more out of N''Zogbia and get another winger in to feed Bent. He is who we should be building the team around.
23. I really don''t think Norwich will be spending the same or even half of what we will this summer.
24. Villa fans treat McLeish with patience. It was a shock that it took until April for the anger to break. There are no hyperboles in describing how apoclayptically awful McLeish was. I expect Lambert to surpass our home form of last season by October.
