  1. Rowe is the one I fear losing the least and I think will probably get the most interest personally. A transfer window where we get good money for Rowe and Kamara steps up wouldn’t be bad at all assuming they think Kamara can do it. Everything I’ve seen and heard makes me think he can and will.
  2. I’m aware but the point is they are the equivalent of Man City in Portugal. The best young Portuguese players go there and before U.K. rules relaxed on South America it was good stepping stone for talent into the PL who couldn’t qualify direct. The way I see it any English player playing for Norwich who’s good enough will get snapped up by a bigger English fish. Any Norwich youth who isn’t of interest to them probably isn’t going to start at Benfica so is probably just as well off personally both financially and progressing in the Norwich first team if there’s a pathway. I just don’t see many obvious scenarios where someone is too good for Norwich but chooses Benfica over a big English club?
  3. I’m not sure considerably is justified but it’s very subjective. Regardless the Championship is wealthier.
  4. Not sure why the 16 year olds care how profitable the academy is? Making it at Norwich would be as swift a route to the EPL if we follow through on the Knapper vision and they’d be better off jumping ship to be number 40 youth player at Chelsea or Citeh etc. if they want personal wealth.
  5. Benfica are a big club but the Portuguese league is only slightly better than the Scottish PL arguably. I don’t see many players dumping a shot at the EPL or being given better than a Champs wage to move to Portugal (however nice it is), especially if they are British. I’m not saying we are on the same level as Benfica to be clear, I just don’t think it’s that big a jump in the money stakes. Everyone always talks about the lure of European football when moving to Celtic or Rangers for instance but they often lose out to Champs clubs like Cordoba just showed.
  6. Ah yes nothing better than witnessing the age old battle between the less educated and/or morally dubious V those who think they are more educated than they actually are and for some reason morally infallible. Then watch them completely miss any valid points the other makes in the race to see who has the stamina to not give up making their **** points in perpetuity. More of those threads in the football section please.
  7. Can this **** off to non-football? It’s bad enough on here lately since the season ended.
  8. Yes ignoring the agenda of the poster, it’s a fair point.
  9. While that’s a fair point, that’s presumably the supporter panels responsibility?
  10. We’ll get the minutes after according to that? Why would the rest of us be expected to know about a meeting we can’t go to before it happens?
  11. I still remember the stick Kane got, I thought he looked talented but he was just a kid and people were expecting him to save our season. I honestly think if Idah’s development had been better managed we’d probably already have sold him for big money to be honest.
  12. It’s definitely going to be a transition season. Already noises from the club that promotion is not necessarily the goal this season and building a sustainable team that would have a better chance on promotion is.
  13. Increased? It’s probably the season with the least complaining about Kenny I can remember.
  14. So he’s a bit like Kabak? In the Championship that would be pretty awesome.
  15. You won’t get much for Kenny and can you replace him for it? The last player over 30 I’d want to see leave personally.
  16. Córdoba has said goodbye to his old club on Twitter, can’t be long till this is confirmed now surely.
  17. Not on the last seasons evidence no. I like Idah a lot, but he’s failed to nail down a starting place even given multiple opportunities including at Celtic. If Sargent goes it’s a big hole that I don’t think Idah can fill personally unless Thorup sees a way to make him that no9 in his system.
  18. 5 million is not an outrageous outlay for a player of his potential, although I imagine any deal would be heavily structured to get to that value eventually.
  19. It’s more about potential value. Both those LBs potential future value was questionable as they weren’t developing. Burrows is a 22 year old Captain, player of the year and arguably their best player. Thats exactly the sort of league 1 player we should be after, especially if they think he has PL potential.
  20. If your model is reliant on buying and selling younger players why offer a contract to a player that hasn’t developed into one more valuable over a number of years? I can believe we only offered him a backup role if we did and I can understand why he said no.
  21. Imagine that communication will happen once the bulk of the squad is in place for next season and I also imagine it will be pretty clear by that point what we are looking to do.
